"Edit: After my review, this page got a flood of 5-star reviews from people who haven’t ever reviewed anything else and have no picture. Interesting that it went from 2 reviews (one from Dr. Von Ber herself) in 4 years to 18 in a month. You can draw your own conclusions... - - I would love to be reviewing what it’s like to be a patient of Dr. Von Ber’s, but unfortunately I never made it that far. About a week out from my initial appointment, I was contacted by the office team with forms to fill out and given instructions on how to pre-pay for the session - all standard practice. When I was told the amount due, however, things became problematic. I was being charged much much more than just my co-pay. As this seemed incorrect, I asked the office team to look into it, while I also reached out to my insurance to double-check. My insurance told me in no uncertain terms “do NOT pay that amount. It is incorrect. The deductible does not apply to in-network providers, you only have to pay the co-pay, and if you pay what they are requesting, it will be extremely difficult to get reimbursed.” They also provided me with a confirmation number that I could give Dr. Von Ber’s office so they could verify this themselves. When I provided this information to the office team, I was met more resistance and insistence that they were correct and I was wrong. I then offered to get on a 3-way call between them and my insurance so they could hear it directly. They declined, stating that I “seem to have different information about the insurance payment then [they] do.” (If only there were a way for them to have the same information about the insurance payment as me...such as a call between all three parties... of course, they didn’t want to do that.) They also stated that they only offer insurance billing as a courtesy, and my other options were to be billed the full amount and submit to my insurance myself, or find another provider. Billing me many many times the correct amount is a courtesy?! I’d hate to see what they find discourteous! Obviously, I’ve chosen to find another provider."
