"About 5 months ago the unimaginable happened, my 19 yr old son was murdered while he was buying a car, and that day we had to break the news to our 4 year old that his bro was gone. I knew immediately who to call, due to other friends telling me that she had done amazing work with their children before. Jerolyn does amazing work as a child trauma therapist, incorporating play therapy, sandtray, art, child EMDR, somatic therapy and supporting us though parent education around child development, bibliotherapy, how to have the hard conversations when he asks questions, praising him for being so brave snd courageous in therapy, including us in sessions and coaching us along, the impact of trauma on a young child, how we can better support him when he feels upset, scared, or confused that his bro is gone and encourages us to take care of ourselves too. I couldn't imagine how to navigate supporting my youngest though this nightmare without Jerolyn and her knowledge, experience, and support. After 5.5 months my son continues to work towards having happiness in his heart that his bro will always be there, and improving on his emotional regulation and balancing his ups and downs more like how he was before this happened. "Jerolyn appears to be nice and inviting initially, offering cognitive behavior therapy which sounds great, but after a few visits I felt comfortable in leaving my daughter alone in the therapy sessions, should have never did this. Instead of providing therapy she accused my daughter of having a eating disorder . This was last summer and my daughter is still dealing with the fact an adult made a comment about her eating habits which have been difficult because she suffers from ptsd. Shame on you Jerolyn. Maybe you should just stick to helping adults because children/teens is not your expertise."
