"CCB Martial Arts is a great place to learn and train. The Seibukan Jujutsu provides an excellent foundation to learn martial arts and apply it to real life situations for self defense. I have practiced other martial arts and all have their benefits and drawbacks. It is truly about the instructors and your/the students’ determination and discipline to train and practice the art consistently for self development. My children also attend classes at the dojo and have shown a lot of self development and have progressed in the art."
"I have been at this dojo for a little over a year. I initially started training with the sword, absolutely loved it, and began attending jojitsu classes as well. I have a background in martial arts but I had not done either of the arts I now practice prior to my time at this dojo. Experienced practitioners and newcomers alike are all welcomed with open arms. Everyone is amazing, extremely supportive, and encouraging. It is a great place to train and make new friends."
"What an amazing martial arts school it is in Concord! I found it purely by accident when searching for Japanese martial arts practices in the area. I am lucky and blessed to have found this amazing dojo - the teachers are excellent, both Hanshi Jon and Sensei Theresa are professional, punctual, great teaching kids and adults alike, and relentless in their desire to bring the best in us during training! The dojo has a lot of martial arts to offer, from Japanese jijutsu to sword and stick arts! Oh yeah and Hanshi Jon makes it a tradition to invite amazing masters from other dojos to come visit and train during special seminars!"
"About a year and a half ago, my 7-year old son decided he wanted to be a ninja. Out of the blue, my husband declared that he, too, had always wanted to be a ninja, so they signed themselves and my 5-year old daughter up at Contra Costa Budokan for jujutsu classes. All three have loved it since the very first class. I was impressed right away with how great Jon, the owner, is at getting kids to understand concepts like goal-setting, taking initiative, and facing their fears. This martial art is not just excellent training in self-defense, it is a self-improvement journey that doesn’t feel like work, even to the kids. My husband enjoys it so much that he now studies all three of the martial arts taught at Contra Costa Budokan. There is a real feeling of warmth and family in the dojo, and the instructors are dedicated to teaching their students to be excellent people as well as excellent martial artists."
