"My mom's hair was matted tangled mess. I brought her to Urban Barber College as it was around the corner from where she lived, got a senior discount and they took drop ins. My mom lucked out and got Danielle Blanco. Danielle, tried to untangle the 3 month old tangled mess on my mother's head. After an hour of trying, to no avail, she shared with my mom what was so difficult with her hair, to where my mom finally agreed to cut the tangled mess off. Danielle was extraordinarily patient and kind with my mom. She gave my mom a pixie cut and assured my mom that her hair will grow out healthy and evenly. We will be back this Friday for a follow up shampoo."

"This was my second visit thinking that It’ll be a okay haircut for what I will pay for. My barber was great and his behavior was amazing but accidentally he wanted to take suggestions from his coworker who was not cutting hair at that moment. He told him that I need a V deep fade from the back and this guy literally drew V alphabet on back side of my head. Thank god It was not another alphabet. It’s annoying that after showing a picture of myself in the haircut i want, they still couldn’t get it right. My barbers cousin kept on saying that my hair is easy and you can never mess a hairstyle like that and yet he kept on making mistakes after mistakes. Finally my barber realized that and apologized. I couldn’t be angry as I can’t grow back the hair in one minute. Two stars for my barber who tried to fix the mess from his coworker. I will think atleast thrice before going there."

"I liked going here before but now 3 times in a row they told me they were closed when they should be open and I always tipped. I was there at 2:45pm on a Saturday and told me they just closed. The next time I went it was at 11:30am and they said they have a staff meeting and won't be open until 1:30 when I start work. So hopefully you're lucky and they won't turn you away"

"A group of hardworking guys and galls that are trying to make an honourable living by learning a hands on skill. In my opinion they need to be helped out because not having a college degree has not stopped them to learn a new skill and hasn’t stoped them to strive for excellence . They come here to learn to have hair cut in 8 months and will go on their to support themselves and their family. You and me assisting them by having our hair cut in this place, and helping these young folks , many of them African American and Hispanic , grow and succeed. Don’t forget to tip them directly as the shop charge you only $8."

"Coming here is a community service. You are helping students learn skills they will forever take with them. It's a cheap hair cut and you might get a student who is close to graduation or a student who just started. Some really skilled barbers have come out of this school and there is constantly a routing amount of skilled students enrolled. Be kind to your barber and don't forget to tip if you can."
