"My son has been going to GenX Fitness for about a year now and loves it! Coach Gen is tough but fair and has fun with the kids. I’ve seen a huge difference in my son’s confidence, discipline, and resilience since starting Muay Thai and self Defense with him. There are a diverse group of kids and adults that make up the members of this studio, and everyone really is really close-knit and so welcoming to new-comers. It’s a fun environment and everyone really has a great time. They truly feel like family to us now. His adult classes are great too! Some of the best money I’ve ever spent. I hope to continue at GenX fitness for years to come."
"My daughters have been attending the Senshido class for nearly two years. Coach Gen is patient with the kids and offers a supportive environment. He gives the students time to acclimate but also provides structure while getting progressively challenging as they show improvement. My girls have told me on numerous occasions that they feel stronger and more confident about standing up for themselves. The students take turns in leading the class in stretches, warm-ups, or demonstrations and I can see how that has contributed to the increased confidence in my girls. In addition, I started taking the adult self defense classes in the evening – a mix of Senshido and Thai boxing. It’s definitely a workout but with practical self defense lessons. The students in my class may come with different levels of experience but all have been friendly and eager to learn. Plus, I have fun! This is a family gym with Coach Gen and Tracie and they’ve done a great job in building a community with all of their clients."
"I had a great experience at the HIIT Fit Combat Conditioning class at 6pm. Loved the vibe and how welcoming/friendly everyone is! As a first timer without muay thai experience, Coach Gen was super welcoming and incredibly patient in teaching me the boxing drills and helping me correct my form. The class is set up to start with a warm up, stretches, a crossfit/punching bag circuit, then partner mitt work, ending with a set of core exercises. I found the class to be challenging, but achievable, and incredibly satisfying. The time flew by really quick. I have taken many classes locally and have tried just about every HIIT and cardio boxing gym from Oakland to Pinole, but this one got me working the hardest. I was dripping in sweat by the end, tracked 600 calories lost (2-3x more vs other classes I've taken at other gyms). I enjoyed my experience so much that I went ahead and immediately booked a package of personal 1 on 1 training with Coach Gen. I highly recommend GenX!"
"Great place to learn. If you are new to martial arts or you have been training for 30 years there is always new things to learn. Gen is an excellent and knowledgeable instructor and fighter."
"The subscription was my BD gift, and I've been going to GenX for about two months by now. - I love the classes and coach Gen. He's super passionate about his training and entirely focuses on his students during the class. He's completely engaged during the training and gives constructive feedback to us. - His students are also supportive and friendly, and it feels like a community. - I signed up in other places before, but GenX is a completely different experience for me. For instance, compared to many other martial art gyms, GenX is clean and not smelly. Everyone sanetizes the equipment and pads after every use. My experience in three words: Passion, Movement, & Joy"
