"We have been trying to get a sent to pain management. Kubo, Koji MD stated that he put in the referral a week ago. We have been going back and forth for a week with no success. I called the office and followed the prompts for referral. The gentleman on the line stated that the referral had been faxed since day one. Pain management states not received. I asked for a printed copy so I may hand delivered. The gentleman stated that he would have them ready. I stopped by the office today and nothing was printed. CJ at the office stated they were sent. I asked for a printed copy, to find out that the referral for the knee was never entered. He was trying to brush me away with another referral. I asked for the office manager and CJ sated he was the lead. He initially blamed the referral department for not doing their job. One or two things. The doctor lied or the medical assistants fail to follow through on the orders, causing delay of care. Now the patient has acute pain and is at the ER. CJ offered the phone number to the manager, to also find out that she has no phone number only email. I questioned CJ on the phone number of the manager and he stated "you can take her email or leave it!" . Dignity health moto is human kindness. He definitely does not demonstrate any of that. I hope this helps others as he stated they have problems with referrals. And I hope that management really gets involved in trying to streamline patient care without delay. Human kindness!"
"I have a PPO insurance plan, and haven't had a primary care physician in the past. I asked one of my specialist doctors for a recommendation, and was referred to Dr. Kubo. I was not experiencing any symptoms of any kind when I scheduled an appointment. I was already under the care of a hematologist, cardiologist and infectious disease doctor, but was told I should have a PCP for overall healthcare management. On my first visit with Dr. Kubo, he ordered and administered four vaccinations, one of which I discovered later is a pediatric vaccine. I am almost 50 years old. Why on Earth do I suddenly need all of these vaccines? During the visit, I nearly had to demand a prescription for Chantix to help me to quit smoking. During the conversation he asked about depression. When I told him I haven't been diagnosed with depression, he said he could prescribe something. I said if anyone qould prescribe something like that to me it would be a psychiatrist. He said he didn't have a psychiatrist he could refer me to then agreed to prescrive the Chantix. He added to my medical record anxiety and depression to my current conditions. He then urgently referred me to three specialists after he noted that he observed symptoms that do not even exist. He added all of this information to my medical record as well, which now indicates that I have several other disease conditions which he really isn't qualified to diagnose to begin with, including substance abuse. When I did not make appointments with these specialists immediately, he berated me with email messages, pointing out the urgency and serious nature of these diseases and that I need to be treated ASAP. He attempted scare tactics, telling me that I have malignant cancer based on a visual examination of my throat. he claims there are lesions in my throat that don't exist. When I questioned the accuracy of my records, he told me that I would have to have testing done in order to confirm that these completely erroneous notations are false. One visit to simply establish a primary care physician has led to literally thousands of dollars in exams, tests and prescriptions. And now, he claims that in order for me to have this erroneous information removed from my own personal health record, I will need to spend more money to prove through testing that the information is inaccurate. There is a name for this - Medical Fraud. He has fraudulently made claims, ordered additional testing and made referrals to specialists based on his completely falsified information. I happen to work in the medical field in a regulatory capacity. I work directly and closely with FDA and health agencies globally. I am very familiar with reporting processes, and I intend to raise this issue both with Dignity Health Medical Group and with FDA. I encourage anyone who is seeing this doctor or considering seeing this doctor to reconsider. I would also encourage you to review your health record if you are currently his patient. This irresponsible behavior can lead to misdiagnosis or mis-treatment and is a very serious matter. Mishandling of patient health information and medical fraud can have serious repercussions on the patient's well-being and could lead to serious injury or death. Needless to say, I am looking for a new PCP outside this medical group immediately. The only good thing I got from this experience was a prescription for Chantix which has helped me to quit smoking. But this was at the cost of my own personal health information and it has jeopardized my health. Do NOT trust your family's health or your own health to this doctor. I am mortified by what I saw in my health record today, and I'm not going to allow Dr. Kubo to hold my health information hostage for ransom, claiming he will remove the information if I pay for tests and exams I do not need."
"Unfortunately, this is the worst doctor I have ever been to. I have never felt like such a bother and like I was wasting someone's time so much before. Every time I brought a concern to Dr Kubo's attention, I feel like he literally just didn't want to be bothered with me, and he would interrupt me and go off talking about something I wasn't even mentioning. One Dr appointment I had with him, I brought up a question in regards to my health and he giggled at me like it was funny and then never answered my question. I would call in and make an appointment for something specific and when I'd take the time off work to go to that appointment (which was usually 2-4 weeks out) He would tell me that he can't do what I needed done and that I would need to re-schedule another appointment. (even though every other doctor had no problem doing what was needed for that appointment) Total waste of time. What kind of a doctor does that?!?! Also, instead of listening to me and hearing me out and understanding that I was a proactive patient who wanted help and to be healed, he would throw prescription drugs at me. I do not like to take pills and have mentioned this to him SEVERAL times. He didn't care, I guess. Also, every time I would go in there, I would want to talk about and update him on my migraines and he wouldn't even remember that I had them. Not a good doctor at all. Would NOT recommend him to anyone. Oh and don't EVER expect a callback in a timely manner regarding your health. I've been calling for 4 days straight AND leaving messages and he still won't call me back. Again, regarding my health. Kind of important, don't you think?"
