"Dr Washkowiak was beyond amazing! Its been 6 months since my delivery and I still think about how kind she was to me, how encouraging, the words she said to me during birth. It was so amazing I wish I could re live the moment. I recommend her a million times! - Ariana Parraz"
"I had PCOS and wanted a doctor with knowledge of it so that I could talk about fertility issues. In my past, doctors told me that I wouldn't be able to have children or that it would be really difficult. I specifically picked this Dr because of these issues (after hours of online research). She really took the time to listen to me, ask me specific questions to determine my best course of action. INSTEAD of having me go through very expensive fertility testing, she suggested using over the counter ovulation kits (for which she makes ZERO money off of) and told me to use those for a bit to see how it goes. If by the end of the year (I saw her in April) I wasn't pregnant, we could do the testing. 3 months of trying and I was pregnant!! She was great the whole time - answering all my questions and concerns. She made me feel at ease and she really wanted to be there for the birth of my son. She was going to have me induced but I went into labor on my own. It was her rotation day at the hospital so she got to see me and meet my son. I can't say enough great things about this doctor. I'm sad that I moved out of CA because I doubt I'll ever have a doctor as amazing. (Side note - this was in 2015 and my son was born in 2016)"
"Dr. Washkowiak is a consummate professional. Her expertise is quickly apparent. She spends all the time her patients need to be comfortable in making difficult decisions and does not pressure patients into committing to a procedure. Her follow-up care is also phenomenal. She is responsive to post-op questions. She is a great listener, kind, and great at what she does. I would recommend her to family and friends in a heartbeat."
"Dr. Washkowiak is the best. She was my go-to for 5-6 years. I wish I lived in the area still! She was always efficient, caring, and fun to talk with. I had a uterine fibroid that was bigger than a lemon. Yikes. She gave me the ups and the downs like a straight shooter(which I love). I always felt confident in my decisions with her guidance. My sister has had 2 of her three children via C-section with her and our family has ONLY been blessed by her hands and support. Bottom Line: She is knowledgable, caring, energetic, and timely. Bonus: she is a pretty lady with kind eyes."
"This is a one star rating, not sure why it is not registering correctly. First let me say that Dr. Washkowiak is very friendly and her staff is wonderful. During my pregnancy I thought she was a good doctor until I had complications. I ended up being hospitalized at the end of my pregnancy with preeclampsia, a condition that the doctor failed to recognize the early signs of during my pregnancy. I was hospitalized for about 9 days (4 pre-labor and 5 post) at Scripps. During this time the doctor only came to see me once. I understood that she is part of a practice and that it was possible that I would be cared for by her other partners however I was literally in the building across campus and would have expected more care and follow-up. Unfortunately a little over a year after my child's birth I was diagnosed with breast cancer, a tumor that was most likely present and missed during my breast exam by the doctor months earlier. When the doctor called me with the news she basically just gave me my diagnosis and said she was sorry. I understand and sympathize that it is hard for doctor's to give bad news to patients however her delivery made the experience more traumatic. As an OBGYN I am sure she has to give this diagnosis to others so I am very disappointed that she did not provide me with any additional information, a possible support group, referral to an oncologist or even the number of the cancer coordinators at Scripps. I was left to figure out my next steps completely alone. Lastly, after I was diagnosed I had to demand an appointment to remove my IUD which had hormones and could have exasperated my condition. This should have been a recommendation from her when she gave me my diagnosis weeks earlier. Honesty had all of this not occurred I would have ranked the doctor a lot higher however I feel that Dr. Washkowiak's care after I had health issues was sub-par at best."
