"The providers here—nurses, doctors, PA’s are great and very friendly and empathetic, but the front desk ladies are a little rude and lack customer service skills. Whenever I call to make appointments they give an attitude like why am I calling for this and in person to book or ask questions they are not very helpful or informative. Will probably be switching providers so I don’t have to deal with them for the next 5 months."
"Im 34 weeks pregnant first time mom and my experience here sucks I still have no clue what to be expecting, they have terrible communication with patient no type of reassurance and very disorganized, you get sent to different places for ultra sounds, blood work but when you finally get an appointment with them they have no clue what’s going on with you, I’ve had to call multiple times to find out my results, squeeze in appointments, I have no education on how birth plan works, and the office girls are terrible always messing up scheduling the 3 times I’ve gone someone is complaining how they messed up scheduling as a first time mom I don’t not recommmend this obgyn office do more research on staffing that actually cares, is alert and provides all information needed to make your birth experience is great and not have to stress or feel worried because they lack on keeping you updated I don’t even know how much my baby weighs how big he is they give you very little details they just give a oh everything looks good here you go, go schedule your next appointment (that’ll take weeks even months for you to get) , or like they did to me your baby is slightly small but not a high risk (instead of your baby is this ______measurement, a normal size is considered this ____, for now try to ______.) You have low fluid as well (instead of you have low fluid it is at _____a normal pregnancy fluid should be at ____ do this to help increase it or there’s nothing to increase it but we will be monitoring you) their very blunt on how they explain results or diagnosis"
"It has taken me a little over a year to process what my prenatal/delivery experience was with this office, and I wanted to make sure that I had thought through what I wanted to review. I had a great experience with the NPs, nurses, and the the physicians when I actually saw them during my appointments. 1) There is something structurally wrong with their medical record system. There were multiple instances when I had gotten blood work done or have completed imaging what the office was completely unaware of. The cherry on top was when I came into my 6 week post partum visit, the NP asked me delivery questions like if I had a csection or natural birth. How is this information not in my medical record that they review before seeing their patients? How am I receiving adequate care if the physicians do not know that kind of delivery you had?? 2) The birth experience just was a let down. I worked in L&D at another hospital preivously, and at least one OB/GYN was always in L&D to speak with patients. When I was admitted following an NST in the evening, I was surprised to have the OBGYN call me to discuss my options. My husband was with me, and at no time before she started speaking did she ask to be put on speaker or anything. It was overwhelming, and I had to regurgitate all the information again to my husband and literally play "telephone" between the physician and me. It is insane that it was never communicated to me before that the physicians might not be in the hospital during the delivery process. 3) The birth of my daughter was a day before a major holiday. I was not expecting all of the OBGYNs to be on vacation during that period. I ended up being delivered by a hospitalist. She was great, but this was never communicated as a possibility that all the ob/gyns would be on vacation, and it would be possible that I would be delivered by someone who is not part of the practice. The csection went smoothly, but there was no follow-up with this doctor either. 4) During the csection, the hospitalist saw evidence of endometriosis. All of the physicans who checked in on me afterwards approached this topic non-chalantly. As someone who plans to have additional children, this could potentially affect future fertility, and with the crazy hormones post partum it really effected me mentally. The physicians kept saying we could discuss next steps at my post partum visit (the same visit where they asked me if i had a csection or natural delivery. I guess no one from the office was there so of course they didn't know). The findings from the csection were completely overlooked. When discussing options, the only thing they mentioned was using hormonal contraception, which as a Catholic (indicated in my file), is not accepted and the conversation was basically ended after that. The basic approach seemed to be "We would have to look into it further", but with no scheduling of a follow up even though I am still in an obgyns office. Just bizarre to me. 5) By the end, I was coming to the office for appts or NSTs at least 3 times a week, and having to pay for parking everytime sucked. I am giving them a 3, because generally throughout the prenatal visits everything went smoothly besides the infuriating EMR miscommunications. Liz Passot was probably the highlight of my experience there. But overall, the delivery handling for me probably would be a 2. I think these are important things for women to consider when looking for prenatal care."
"This is my third pregnancy and I can say West Coast has been the best experience yet. I would recommended Dr. Schlesier to anyone expecting as she is kind, caring, attentive, and overall has an amazing bedside manner. The nurses and admin have all been super friendly and accommodating as well. I only wish I found Dr. Schlesier sooner!"
