"I had excellent service. The front desk friendly and competent. I had arrived late (30 mins. to be exact)and was still seen and treated well. I have to disagree with the bad reviews. The card on file I used my HEALTH SPENDING CARD and now in modern times even hotels ask for a card on file for incidentals. Some people don't understand business and find ways to criticize a business as if they are experts. I left this office feeling great about it and did not find any negative remarks. The doctor is a professional and expert. I am happy with the services provided."

"I am so fortunate to have found Dr. Gary Vandenberg -- he is truly a fabulous doctor and one I highly recommend! (I myself have worked in healthcare x 20 years, so having worked a wide variety of M.D.'s over the years, I know a great one when I find one!). Dr. V. and his wonderful office staff made me feel welcome and at ease from the second I entered. For each appt. I had leading up to my GYN surgery, Dr. Vandenberg has taken his time with me, explained the diagnostic findings/test results, and then thoroughly discussed all the treatment options available (along with the pro's/con's). He's answered all of the questions I had, and provided written handouts as additional sources of information related to my dx and tx. He truly cares about meeting my needs, and even called me at home the morning after my surgery to check on me (how many doctors today call their patients?). The staff at the nearby Surgical Center (on the same campus as his office but in a separate bldg.) said "Dr. V." is one of their favorite doctors to work with -- "so warm and personable, never without a smile on his face." (even at 2:00 a.m., when delivering a baby!). All went well with my surgery and recovery, and the outcome was even better than I had hoped for - thanks to Dr. V.s clinical knowledge, surgical skill, and expertise!"

"I was a high risk pregnancy...multiple fibroid tumors. Dr Vandenberg was the only doctor I spoke with that was confident enough to take me on as a patient and assured me we could make it to full term (less one week) and was able to deliver my son via c-section. He removed the 7 fibroids and 1 cyst without any complications. I was back in business in a weeks time. He was kind, caring and compassionate. So grateful I found him!"

"I was sent back home by the doctor receptionist from my initial appointment because they wanted to have $50 cash/check and a credit card on file besides my insurance (Blue Shield PPO, which fully covers the majority of services). I was shocked: never heard or seen any doctor's offices, especially in UCSD area that could be so interested in finances, right at the first meeting:)) I did found some cash, even though that was ridiculous, and I gave them my decent American Express, which I use for all my business expenses. The rude girl, I cannot call her a lady, told me that we'd have to reschedule because they do not take AmEx... Yes, we are in 21st century, and I heard it. Since you humiliated me, Dr.Vanderberg, here is my advice: get rid of that incompetent person at your front desk and install Clover or Square processors. With those systems even my small business can afford to accept AmEx. Otherwise your whole business looks very suspicious and definitely not trustworthy..."
