"I can only speak to my care but I had a great experience with Dr. Dattel. I had placenta previa with the possibility of accreta and she was extremely knowledgeable and patient in answering my many questions. I didn’t experience any issues with her bedside manner. I appreciated that she didn’t sugarcoat things and was upfront about my risks so that I could make informed decisions around my care and delivery."

"DO NOT USE THIS “DOCTOR.” This sorry excuse for a doctor told my wife that our then unborn 20 week old daughter would had several issues. She told my wife that these issues could very well result in the death of our daughter during pregnancy that and if she did survive the pregnancy, that she could very well die shortly after being born. She said these things to an emotional and highly vulnerable pregnant woman without having any factual evidence to back up these claims and tore my entire family apart for a full week before our OB disputed her claims to be false. Flash forward a full year later, and my EXTREMELY HEALTHY daughter is now almost 8 months old, and still to this day has had zero issues or complications with her health. This “doctor” should be stripped of her medical license and go work minimum wage somewhere where a brain or bedside manner is not needed."

"This Dr shouldn’t practice anymore. I knew from my first experience with her for my first pregnancy that she was to be avoided. So for my second pregnancy I specifically asked to see her colleague, Dr Soffici (who is actually wonderful). I arrived at the appointment and it’s only in the exam room that I was told that I was to see Dr. Dattel. I was so annoyed and told them that I had specifically asked to see Dr. Soffici. I was about to leave and reschedule but I got afraid that I wouldn’t have another appointment soon enough (I had made this one 2 months prior). But now I regret and think I should have. I was so excited to see my baby and really anxious to know if everything was doing all right. Instead of leaving reassured, I left with a bad feeling. She had « stolen » our moment. From the instant she entered the room I could feel she couldn’t care less about her job. I explained to her that I’ve been on a treatment to help with my sickness and that I was stressed about the potential negative effects on the baby. She just said « there’s a risk with everything, even prénatals ». I then connected my husband via FaceTime since he can’t be with me because of Covid. He muted himself but at one point he just wanted to ask a question so he asked. She gave me that cold look and said « muted, it’s the rule. I can’t concentrate otherwise ». When I asked if everything looked good, she said « we’re never gonna be able to see everything » and when I asked « does he have all his fingers and toes, she said «  I took the pictures, you’ll count ». What is wrong with this person? Not only I can’t tell anything from the pictures, but please a little bit of empathy?? She ended up ruining this special moment and no woman/parents should feel that way."

"I saw Dr. Dattel today for an ultrasound. She entered the room, and without introducing herself, said “Wow. Advanced maternal age for your first baby?” I was practically fighting tears. You have no idea what a woman’s journey is, so for her first statement to be an insult is completely disgusting. She said “don’t worry my last baby was advanced maternal age, too.” I told her I hate that phrase. She continued to talk about how I’m “incredibly high risk” for genetic abnormalities, high blood pressure, gestational diabetes, etc because I’m “so young.” This was sarcasm after I told her I hate the term advanced maternal age. She said nothing about what she was seeing. She was too busy berating me for being pregnant. I had to repeatedly ask her what she was seeing because she couldn’t be bothered. You want to talk advanced age? This woman is likely in her 70s and should do the world a favor and retire if she’s so jaded and miserable. I will never allow her to see me again."

"Has absolutely no business dealing with patients. There was last minute confusion about my ability to FaceTime my husband / record the appt (due to COVID restrictions) and she spent the whole appointment complaining about how many times a day she has to tell patients they can't record, while prodding me with the doppler in an unnecessarily strong and obviously frustrated way. Never described what she was seeing, or her evaluation of what she was seeing until the very end when she declared "all is good", despite saying I needed to come back for a follow-up because she couldn't get the views she wanted. In 8 months of pregancy, transfers between OB's and perinatal physicians, I have never felt like such an obvious inconvenience or a piece of meat until Dr. Dattel."
