"I have had two babies since the beginning of Covid, both c sections an my experience here was amazing with the nurses and doctors both times! They were calming even during the scariest thing for a mom, when the heart rate dropped on my son. Going to emergency c section was scary but made so much easier by the staff here. Thank you to Dr. Sungarlu and Lopopolo for delivering my boys. And to all the amazing nurses that are too many to list here! I appreciate all that you do and did for me! Words of encouragement, helping me to the bathroom, wrapping baby and making sure I always had ice !! Thank you! I will say one thing though a little understaffed - understandable but that was really the only thing!"
"Giving birth here with our first baby was an amazing experience! We had to transfer from a birth center last minute at 37 weeks due to a new health concern that popped up. Knowing I would have to be laboring and birthing with doctors I didn’t know, was a fear and worry for me. When we checked in, the staff were so nice and understanding, helpful and kind. We got settled in and Dr. Lickness was on shift that night, he was so kind and explained everything, making us feel very comfortable. Over the next few days while I had to be induced, we had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Monroy and Dr. Correia. These three men made me feel so comfortable and relaxed through my whole birthing experience, I honestly felt like I had known them whole pregnancy (and that’s coming from a women who has intentionally only had female OBs). Dr. Monroy was on shift when I was in the final stage of labor, and was there for our beautiful birth. His calm as a cucumber demeanor and positive vibes was exactly what I needed to stay in a positive head space. I was able to have a natural unmediated birth, even though my health issue required me to be induced (scary word). I want all the future moms reading this to know that these doctors are not the kind that push interventions and c-sections that we all read about. I definitely had a mindset that all hospitals would push unnecessary interventions which would ultimately lead to a c-section, and while that may be the case in other cities or hospitals, this hospital is not that way. My husband and I were so happy with how supportive everyone is to breastfeed, have immediate skin-to-skin contact, and many other things that were important to us. We will definitely be having any future children at this hospital, and couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful and positive birth experience, despite how unexpectedly our Birth location and plans had changed last minute. We didn’t even have a birth plan with us, but the doctors were so respectful and attentive, the wishes we shared with them stayed in constant communication with the other doctors and RNs, everyone was on the same page. The only thing I would have liked to happen, is to be able to labor in the water tub (but the fetal monitor was broken so I couldn’t go in :(. Thank you to our AMAZING RN team in L&D: Marina, Amber, Dana, Christina, Rochelle, and all the support staff. You guys kept our spirits up and were such rockstars for my husband and I!"
"This place is incredible. They are so caring and informative and really pay attention. My son is in the NICU here and I wouldn't want him anywhere else... but home. So thankful for Sierra Vista staff."
"I’ve been in the waiting room in excruciating pain for over two and a half hours. There are more people detoxing here then people that truly should be treated for medical care! We are all lined up on hospital beds in the hallways. It truly is the worst care and experience I have ever had in reference to medical services! I will never come here again! Slo county has the worse emergency services I have ever seen!"
"The group at Sierra Vista Birth Center in San Luis Obispo CA are one of the most caring and family oriented facilities I have ever been to."
