Discovery Building

The Discovery Building, located at 330 North Orchard Street in Madison, Wisconsin, is a state-of-the-art facility with 40,000 square feet of space available for various events. The main floor can accommodate up to 1,200 people and serves as a central space for idea sharing through conferences, poster sessions, banquets, receptions, lectures, and more.

The building is home to two research institutes, the Morgridge Institute for Research and the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery (WID), which collaborate to facilitate breakthrough discoveries in health and well-being. Visitors can enjoy dining options at Aldo’s Café, Acai & More, and Steenbock’s on Orchard, with exclusive customized catering menus available.

Steenbock’s on Orchard, the onsite restaurant and caterer, offers exceptional service and works closely with event staff to ensure the success of each event. Custom setups and AV equipment are available to enhance the experience for guests.

Visitor parking is available in nearby University-managed lots, with options for reserving parking passes through UW–Madison Transportation Services. The Discovery Building is conveniently located near Madison Metro Transit bus stops and UW-Madison bicycle routes.
