"Many/most folks here are awesome! That being said, it’s clear that students who may have some challenges or special needs aren’t welcomed. When I spoke with the owner about my son being able to take short breaks throughout the lessons (just quietly stepping back and stepping back in when ready) we were denied that and were told “I’m not saying we don’t want him here, but at the end of the day we are not a therapy center.” That is very true, and I made it clear we didn’t expect any modified or personalized instruction or additional time or strain from instructors. It was a very uncomfortable and unfortunate interaction and my son soon after decided he no longer wanted to return. I was also pretty surprised at the lack of instruction given for foundational skills such as belt tying, phrases they must know, etc."
