"The only good part about storing my boat at the end of the season is that I get to chat with Jake and the team at Tinus' service department. Great people that stand by their work."
"Rented a boat on okauchee lake for 4 hours last week. Did the same with a different rental company last year and had a great experience. This was not the same. The boat was supposed to be new. It may have been, but it was not as nice or powerful for the same price. The other company provided a cooler and water. This one did not. Then, we were having trouble restarting the boat because the ignition housing was not secured properly. My son in law had to crawl under the housing to hold it together for it to start. He was able to do that each time we restarted the boat. We reported the problem when we got back. The employee who met us said that had never happened before and dropped it. I talked to the office about it and was told that we should have called them and they would have switched boats. But it was an extremely hot day and we decided not to do that because we didn’t want to prolong the trip. Anyway, just won’t rent from Tinus again. They should have just apologized and left it at that. But they apologized and then made me feel like I did something wrong. They did admit they had the ignition switch fixed. Perhaps someone should have checked it before we took it out. There are other rental companies that are outstanding. Live and learn"
"Brought my older ski boat in to Tinus Marine for a new starter, solenoid and ignition last spring. Despite their policy of not working on older boats, they agreed to take my boat in anyway. (Keep in mind, this is spring-their busiest time of the year). I would have completely understood if they adhered to their policy, but instead, the response was a friendly, "let's see if we can help!" A week later, I received a call that our boat was ready. As a result, our family and friends had a fantastic season of boating this summer. I simply wish to say thank you to everyone at Tinus Marine. Great people who really care about serving others."
"Look no further. This is the 4th boat we have purchased and this was the best experience we have ever had buying a boat. I wouldn’t go anywhere else but Tinus from now on. Their entire team & family are dedicated to providing you the best experience in purchasing and owning one of their boats."
"1) I was excessively overcharged on labor for simple repairs (I paid the bill and didn't complain) 2) Next day I went to use the boat and didn't work properly (mechanic rushed the job and didn't take the time to confirm his repairs) He didn't reconnect the power to the trim and didn't check the temperature gauge after he replaced it. 3) I towed the boat back the next day and spent 3 hours while he attempted to correct the problem (which I had already paid for the previous day) 4) They broke the tabs on my dash panel by over-tightening the screws while replacing the temperature gauge (see photos). The dash panel for this boat is no longer available, so I cant even buy a replacement, i just have to live with it. 5) I was charged me $50 for fuel (which I found out the next day was only for 5 gallons) I was very respectful and spoke with both Eric Tinus (service) and Tim Tinus (owner) on two separate occasions about my dissatisfaction with the quality of the service/repairs. Tim Tinus even thanked me for discussing it with him in a professional manor. Both Eric and Tim said they "would see what they would do" and get back with me. Since that time, I have called AND emailed both of them. Both of them have been completely NON-responsive (that was two months ago) I understand mistakes happen, however, it appears they are more concerned about retaining all my money... then about admitting their mistakes and offering a reasonable credit. I would NOT recommend Tinus Marine"
