"I recently scheduled an appointment with La Jolla LASIK Institute for 8:30 am. The office efficiently confirmed my appointment the day before, which I appreciated. However, upon my arrival at the scheduled time, I was met with a closed office. After some effort to get in touch with the staff, I was eventually let in by the receptionist, who then informed me that the doctor was delayed due to a dentist appointment and would be back around 8:50 am. While I understand that unexpected situations can occur, I found the communication in this instance to be lacking. As someone with a tight schedule, it would have been helpful to receive prior notification about any potential delays, allowing me to better manage my time or reschedule. Due to this experience, I was unable to utilize their services. Despite this, I believe feedback like this can be an opportunity for improvement. Better communication about schedule changes would greatly enhance the customer experience, respecting and valuing the client's time. While I'm unable to comment on their medical services, I hope this input helps in refining their client communication processes."

Dr. Nahl and the staff there were very friendly and professional before during and after surgery which made me feel like they actually cared about my personal results, comfort, and experience. "Let me be very clear - do not go to La Jolla Lasik. My appointment started off well, until I met Dr. Nahl. She was very rude and did not care about taking the time to answer any of my questions. She ran some tests and decided I should go for PRK, despite my corneal thickness being well within the suitable Lasik tier. At the time I had not done as much research and went ahead and scheduled the procedure. I paid a $500 deposit which no other institution asks for. The patient coordinator was very pushy and instead of answering my questions he wanted to talk about his reckless over indulgence in Europe 2 days after he had his own Lasik procedure. The entire office felt like a pyramid scheme. I had a few other consultations and went with a different place, successfully having Lasik done. The operation was flawless. I contacted La Jolla Lasik to try and discuss my $500 deposit, and after no less than 16 calls over multiple weeks I gave up trying. No one would answer my call, or the front desk clerk would put me on hold until the call dropped. I eventually had to file a dispute through my credit card provider. I am THANKFUL I didn't make the disastrous mistake of having my procedure here. Please do yourself a favor and go with someone you can trust your vision to."
