In California, the service dog guarantees apply to an even broader range of public places than the ADA covers, including: !!!!!!medical facilities, such as hospitals, clinics, and physicians' offices!!!!! I was denied entry to the program due to the size of my service animal which is a direct violation of my civil rights as a person with a disability."
"Bridge and Recovery center. This facility provides a sobering service for clients brought in by sdpd as an alternative for arrest. They also help with rehab referals for those with alcohol and drug addictions to client specific programs. Mcalister offers around 30 alternatives within its matrix and also refers to other entities. The individual needs, and preferences of the client are always considered to help them succeed in their recovery. A very helpful service that is accepting of clients with diverse needs that need to be handeled on an individual basis treating all with respect. Excellent."
"They provide a place to rest for 4 hours in order to sober up and it is a jail free card if you complete 4 hour requirement. Plus it does not go in your record."
"My folks live near bye, we've had multiple drunks released or not checked in properly from this place at 2-3 in the morning knocking on their door with crazy sob stories begging for rides or blankets and what not. This facility may be needed, but needs to more responsible for the flow of people."
