Reviews
"This place is a HUGE scam lol - they ask people to do reviews upon signing up - once you sign up - you’re paying $12k to clean a studio with unqualified engineers. This program is worth $600 for protools. They’re great Sales ppl, welcome to LA. Horrid “Institute” - Hit me up! I have extreme documentation of their incompetence."
"My tutor and mentor were great. My tutor was very accessible and knowledgeable. My mentor taught me everything there is to know about producing and the way the music business works which I think is essential. If you want to learn hands on then this is the place for you."
"The Recording Connection team has answered every question I've had so far about music production. However, I haven't had any studio time for as long as I've been with them for the past couple of weeks. Besides that factor, my next goal with them is to have them help me pin point the best sounds I should be working with such as: drum kits, samples, and effects; work flow technique pointers will be a plus too."
"I started school around last December and my first mentor used to just go over my quiz which was about a 10 min. conversation, I didn't get much time in the studio so I asked to be transferred to another studio that was closer to my area so they did. I was sent to another studio with a new mentor, He was a very good teacher and gave me some refresher classes to get me up to speed because I was so behind in my knowledge of the studio and I was half way though the program. Then he informed me that he was having trouble getting paid for the classes he was giving me. Soon after he texted me that he was no longer working for the studio or the Recording connection. After this I went about 3 months without a class and finally was placed with another mentor. He was also a great teacher but I was only able to be in the studio about once every 3 weeks, I'm guessing because the studio was booked on other days. I spoke to some people from the Recording connection and they informed me that the mentor which stated that he had left the organization never quit ( I have no Idea what happened with that) I am on Chapter 18 and I only have 2 chapters left and I still do not have much experience in the studio because I have not been in the studio much. I now have an online mentor that they have set me up with and he is very knowledgeable and he is helping me get my skills in Pro Tools up to par. It has been a crazy experience and if I could go back I would not have signed up but I made the mistake of signing on that dotted line. I wish I was in Los Angeles because I hear nothing but great things about the experiences of the students there."
"I've been a student with RRFC for the past year. My mentor is Donnie Baker, and he always does an awesome job of teaching me new things i never had known about before. He is especially great from a mix/ live perspective, and will go out of his way to make sure I understand the subject we are learning about. My new student Adviser Marina is also great at what she does, and is always fun to talk to while helping me learn new things in the process. Her background in composition for fantasy/ video games helps me a lot with my production since I love making Video Game influenced EDM music, and it's always great to get feedback from someone who is ahead of you in their skillset. At the end of the day the best way to learn is to do, and RRFC has provided great tools for me in my journey so far. :)"
