"I was a new patient and had an extremely important appointment with the hematologist this morning at 8:30 a.m. that I had been waiting weeks for. I made certain to arrive early since I was the first appointment of the day and had to fill out a large packet. From the moment that I arrived and for the next 25 minutes, I could hear a group of loud employees laughing/joking in the back. Meanwhile, as the waiting room filled up with ill patients, not one patient was called back to see the specialist. The receptionist finally called my name to tell me that I owe an amount of $240 for a copay. I stood there in disbelief because I have never had a co-pay. I left and immediately called my insurance who agreed that I do not ever owe a co-pay. My insurance and I called them on a conference call. A rude woman answered and said that I was a NO SHOW this morning. After arguing back and forth with her, I asked to speak with a supervisor. A woman named Carol answered and explained that the Oncology Institute's system had the incorrect information. So now they basically have to resubmit everything and then I will have to wait an additional several weeks to get an appointment. I questioned her regarding the employee who said I was a NO SHOW and she said that she would look into it. (PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A NO SHOW FEE. I will NOT be paying it!!!!) All they had to do was look at their clipboard where I signed in!!!! What a headache. What a nightmare. The unprofessional atmosphere and demeanor from the employees did not leave me with a decent first impression. This office seems unorganized and represents the specialist in a poor manner. I really don't feel like wasting my time here again and will probably request a different referral. My health is of the utmost importance to me and they do not seem to care."

"I appreciate the Dr's expertise but did NOT appreciate having to wait more than an hour for the visit. Not the first time for a long wait. Having the TV to watch was a good time passed until it turned to a movie in another language."

"My doctor just left the institute and I was reassigned to Dr Sarwari. Today was my first visit with this new doctor and I expected he would spend some time to learn more about my health conditions. But he did not seem to care much about my history, and not quite willing to answer my questions. I was told to ask my PCP and cardiologist instead. I just wonder why he was not able to share at least some of his professional opinion first before sending his patient away. If you want to have your first office visit with a doctor, hope for some evaluation of your health and conclude in 3-5 minutes, he is a good choice."
