"I have been trying to get reimbursed for a hospital stay that i was made to pay up front. Anthem has given me so many excuses why they have not taken care of it, my stay was 08/28/23-09/06/23, today is Feb 15, 2024. STILL not taken care of. For the last month they have been saying they need a W9 form for the provider, even though it is an in-network provider. I wrote the Ins Commissioner only to be told this is now a self-funded plan and they cannot help me. I have asked for a Mngr, Director etc... but they will not give me anyone other then the same person who has given me excuse, after excuse, after excuse. "it's being escalated" I am told. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!! This is a lot of money we are talking and it is affecting me financially and mentally. ANY IDEAS?????? I am in customer services and Anthem does not even have the first clue as to what helping someone means. THE ULTIMATE WORST COMPANY EVER!!!!!! 1 star is too much!"

"Anthem called me, sold me a Supplement plan, while I have an Anthem Medicare Advantage plan. Again, they contacted me. 10 months later and them taking $155 from my account. I received several balance dues. Called Anthem and they said we have not paid a claim because you can’t have both. But they continued taking money monthly. I have correspondence from them monthly. Took the money, but denied 100% of the claims. Getting balance medical dues from providers because Anthem Supplement Plan has denied all payments. A month after my first call, no refund. No refund. Don’t sign up with Anthem BCBS."

"Anthem cancelled my insurance the same day they received my payment. And withdrew the payment made to my healthcare provider 6 months later. After making my payment i had assumed i was covered now I'm stuck with a huge doctor bill right before Christmas. Merry Christmas to me"

"I have never had a problem with Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Any time a complication has happened with billing (I seem to be in the hospital a lot) they have been awesome to work with. I am sad that I am not with them for insurance anymore because they are by far the best insurance company I have been with. Excellent customer service on the phone and online! Surprised I'm the only good google review so far, but people are less likely to write a review for something good verses something bad."
