The Arab Film and Media Institute (AFMI) is a groundbreaking organization located in San Francisco, California, dedicated to finding, nurturing, and developing Arab film and media projects. AFMI is the first of its kind outside the Arab world, providing a unique ecosystem for filmmakers and media creators.

AFMI is proud to showcase a variety of films and documentaries, such as "THE OLD OAK" by legendary director Ken Loach and "HOMELAND: IRAQ YEAR ZERO", a monumental two-part documentary following the lives of everyday Iraqis. The institute also co-presents screenings and events, such as the premiere of "LYD" at Firehouse: DCTV’s Cinema for Documentary Film.

One of AFMI's annual events is "Arab Women in the Arts", a showcase honoring generations of Arab women who have excelled in the arts and revolutionized the industry. The institute also supports filmmakers like Kaouther Ben Hania, whose film "Four Daughters" has been nominated for Best Documentary Feature Film at the Oscars.
