"Bergen College needs to have better guidelines on how puppies in training are allowed into businesses. Handlers disrupt business, and use the Bergen shield as an excuse in order to remain.. Service dog handlers that do not have a specific disability need to understand that most patrons are allergic and afraid of animals. If it’s not necessary to be there, or if the business provides a specific area for Pets, that should be respected. I do not support Bergen college and will continue to boycott their services."
"My wife and I foster a lot of their dogs in training and this organization has been nothing but exceptional. Their dogs are also pretty darn cute too."
"Great school to attend for learning how to train service dogs."
"Very caring place doing vitally important work."
"Attending BUCS was an amazing experience and the best investment I have ever made. I didn’t have much dog experience before attending, but after graduating I feel prepared for so many dog training opportunities. BUCS teaches you everything from how to raise a puppy to avoid behavior issues as well as to problem solve to find a solution to any problem behavior you may encounter with older dogs. The staff encouraged learning a lot of methods and to find the right technique for you and the individual dog. There were a broad range of classes and if ever we felt we were lacking something in our education we simply would mention it and they would find a way to include it in our program even if it meant flying in a teacher every week for a specific class. Yes this actually did occur! We mentioned that we would like to learn about the training of guide dogs for the blind and a trainer was found who needed to travel by plane to come to BUCS every week. We learned about the benefits of puppy training and two completely different methods to use with young dogs. We learned about selecting the right puppy for the right situation and how to pair the right dog with the right person. We learned how to make training fun and how much potential dogs really have. I would recommend Bergin University of Canine Studies to anyone interested in working with dogs or interested in animal training. BUCS provides an ideal foundation for anyone who wants to get into any type of dog training."
