"UPDATE Nov 27 2017 β Still no word about my refund. They've gone silent. Don't fall for this company's pitch β they'll take your money and not give it back. The "company response" below is a lie. They still haven't refunded a single dollar. Two years later, and I'm still trying to get my money back. Don't make the same mistake as me. --- I implore you not to deal with Tesol Training. Do not make the same mistake as us. This is our story: I'm going to preface this story by saying that I'm a positive person. I don't like leaving bad reviews unless I'm absolutely compelled to. Sadly, this is one of those occasions. My girlfriend signed up for the In-Class Tesol course back in December 2015, for a course to commence in February 2016. She was excited. We were scheduled to head to Asia that year, and we were hoping for her to get on the right track for a teaching position in Japan. Eagerly, we awaited for the course to commence in February. February came, and my girlfriend arrived at the venue where the course was scheduled to start. She waited patiently for the instructor to arrive. After one hour, nobody came. Confused, she called Bryan to get the run-down on what was happening, only to be told that the class had been cancelled. No warning. No email. No phone call. Nothing. Just like that. She was deeply upset. This was the one opportunity she had to secure the TESOL certificate before heading to Asia. This is where it gets worse. Bryan, assured us he'd refund us the money (in lieu of taking an online course, which we refused). It is now January 2017, and our $1000+ has still yet to be refunded. Multiple phone calls, emails and attempted Skype calls and we've yet to receive a single dollar back from the suddenly cancelled course. I know you may see this course as a cheap/er option than whatever else is out there, but after having dealt with the company, it's no wonder why. Other reviews have had the exact same experience. Just go to yelp and then Tesl Training International (Google won't let me post a link). I am happy to field any and all enquiries regarding this review. Contact me via Google+ if you want. I take full ownership over the words I have written. I am now in the process of hiring a lawyer to take this to court. I did not want to do this. Do not deal with this company. They will take your money."
"The class was great, the specialization in children was a great course and will prepare you to teach anywhere. Thanks Bryan and Davide for all your help-"
"Great school! I took the TEFL training course in San Francisco in June and have been very satisfied. Even before the class began, Bryan and everyone at the San Diego office had been very helpful in providing information about teaching abroad and the certification courses offered. I was fortunate to be in a small class for my training which made it so we were able to ask questions and receive feedback more in-depth than we may have otherwise had the class been larger. Carmen is a great teacher and made the class feel like we were all friends chatting about travel and teaching, but we were actually learning too! I would recommend this course to anyone looking to work outside the U.S. Not only is there an abundance of material for teaching on the Tesol Training portal, but the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Bryan is experienced and can offer great advice about teaching abroad. Thanks TESOL Training Team!"
"This school is awful. Terrible. I taught the course for this program 3 times. The books are cheap and the sources are all outdated. The owner, Bryan, is completely disorganized and unprofessional. Additionally, he has yet to pay me for teaching the course as far back as April. If he doesn't pay his teachers, how can you trust that he can secure you a job overseas? This whole school is a scam to exploit people. If you want to go overseas and teach English, find a course overseas (there are some good ones in Latin America) or look at SDSU's program. Getting it here is a huge waste of time and money. I can't admonish against this school any stronger."
