"The First Dance place was wonderful and one of the best decisions we made during our wedding planning process. My partner and I both have zero dancing experience and quickly realized that anything more than simply swaying during our first dance would be a challenge without lessons. We didn’t want an elaborate, choreographed routine, but rather a few polished steps to compliment our chose song. The First Dance Place had no problem accommodating that and working with us to find the right package at a reasonable price. Our instructor, Katie, was the best part of our experience- she is so personable, knowledgeable, and very patient and reassuring when it comes to feeling awkward while dancing. She made us feel at ease and broke down the steps into manageable pieces. We were able to learn our dance in 2 sessions. I highly recommend working with Katie on your first dance. It was so worth it and she is genuinely wonderful to hang out with for a few hours. If you’re not already planning on booking lessons for your wedding, let this be your sign to do it. You will be so thankful!"

"My husband bought a wedding dance lesson package for my birthday this year - BEST GIFT EVER! We danced to Elvis' "Can't Help Falling In Love". Katie choreographed everything on the spot assessing our skill level, the dance floor, the dress, etc. She is so knowledgeable and an excellent teacher. "We can't thank Katie and The First Dance Place enough for making our dream first dance come true! My partner and I had virtually no experience with swing dancing (we had taken maybe 1 or 2 social classes years ago) but we had a vision of swing dancing for our wedding first dance together. Katie is an amazing teacher and taught us all the basics so quickly, and even taught us some more advanced steps that were huge crowd pleasers! "We did an eight-class package for our first dance and it was one of the best investments we made in our wedding. First off, we had a blast taking the lessons. I've got a bit of a social dance background but I was dubious at first that my now-husband would enjoy it as it was totally new to him. It turns out that, because Katie made it so much fun, and so easy to learn, he absolutely loved it and started getting even more intense than I was about mastering it! (It also made a kind of nice weekly date night leading up to the wedding, which was helpful psychologically). We had a number of guests tell us it was the best first dance they'd ever seen, and this was 100% due to Katie's patient and skilled instruction! If you're on the fence about whether you want to do classes, I really think you'll find these worth it."
