"Rejected mine & my spouse's application and have thus far refused to provide a reason, despite us having far more than enough income, perfect rental history across multiple states, and outstanding credit. I suspect illegal discrimination based on our ESA, or some other arbitrary reason. To get an explanation of the reasons for rejection, you have to send a hard-copy letter to their office, which is an absolutely absurd hoop to jump through in 2024. They were perfectly reasonable to work with up until the application, but I am utterly baffled. I may update this review pending a response to that letter."
"I absolutely love living at AutumnWood. It is a peaceful place to live and the property manager, Whitney, is amazing! 10/10 would recommend."
"Have lived here a year, and it is hands down the worst experience i have ever had at an apartment. Do not live here. As if the loud neighbors, physical altercations, constantly broken appliances and amenities, cops showing up, and reviews of them keeping security deposits isn’t enough, Today a clueless employee shows up unannounced to show my apartment without notice (illegal in Wisconsin without 24 Horus notice) i took my service dog outside into the hallway to get out of their way and come back upstairs and she locked me out. So i has to miss an hour of work, called 15 times and no one picks up and had to walk a mile to the office where I’m told “it’s policy” to lock the door. Is it also policy to illegally enter a residents apartment without notice? This place has been and continues to be a joke."
"This apartment complex was impossible to communicate with. Many days would pass without any kind of response to questions or submitted information. Be warned, they require every person on the lease to have a significant income, regardless of total income or savings. If one person who wants to live there is currently unemployed or a stay at home parent you will not be accepted. I would save yourself the hassle and apply elsewhere."
"I was moving from Utah to Madison and I happened to stumble upon this apartment listing. They looked really good and I even got a hold of Whitney who did a virtual tour of two of the units with me. She seemed really nice and helpful at first. When I expressed my desire to submit an application for one of the available units she told me to submit it through their website. I did as she told me to and then followed up with her because the website application was very generic and didn't even ask for a proof of income. Anyways, I emailed Whitney 3 times and called back 2 times because she was supposed to "give me more information" about my application. Well, long story short, I was never able to get a hold of Whitney again. Either they didn't want me to live in their units or they are just extremely negligent and couldn't care less about their jobs. It's probably a bit of both, but who knows. Thing is, if the management of these units aren't even willing to get back to a possible client, I can't even imagine how TERRIBLE they are to their actual tenants. I'm sure that there might be other people that have had good experiences with this company (Goldleaf Development), but mine was terrible and they did nothing to ameliorate their negligence."
