"Lived here several years ago. It was a convenient location to the hospital. Coming from sunny state, am thankful for the underground parking (though expensive) so would not have to worry about shoveling. I would not rent a unit facing Campus Drive. Even on the fifth floor and double-paned windows, you will still hear car traffic. Every car that drives over Campus Drive above Highland Avenue will run over the expansion joints so you will hear a double tap all night long. You do get a nice view of the sunset and oncoming clouds/rain every evening. Units facing south will deal with the commercial venues on the first floor and possibly outdoor smoking."
"Very good facilities, large rooms, and friendly maintenance staff, but there is bad one of the managers of the leasing office that does not respect the privacy of the residents and has a rude attitude towards the residents."
"This is a very well maintained building in an excellent location close to the hospitals and medical school. Staff are kind and very responsive and the building is very well managed. The few maintenance requests I’ve had to put in have been addressed same day. The underground parking is fantastic, especially for the winter months. Cannot beat the commute if you work at UW Health or the VA."
"Amazing place to live!! Worth every penny for the location, only 2 blocks (5 minute walk) from UW hospital where my husband and I worked. We lived there for 4 years and I cannot say enough good things about the building and staff! The apartments themselves are very well built. I was a night shift worker and never worried whether I would be able to sleep or not due to noise. Very quiet and you never hear your neighbors. The side of the building overlooking university avenue was pretty loud when your windows were open. We lived on both the courtyard side and the university ave side and preferred the courtyard side. The courtyard has two grills that are available for use year round which is amazing. Clean underground parking. Huge storage area for bikes. Would recommend to anyone!"
"In a few words: overpriced and underwhelming. We were really excited to move in, but even more excited to move out and be free of the HUM West Wilson management & their tome of rules and regulations. The apartment itself is nice. The 1 bedroom we were in was pretty tight, space-wise. The floors scratched so easily that we were told not to even roll suitcases on them. We were reprimanded multiple times for having items (flower pots, coolers, folding chairs) visible on our porch. There is very limited storage in the apartment so we were forced to stuff our closets to the top. The gym is small and stuffy. There are TVs and WiFi up there which is nice. The Community Room can be booked for a ~$100 refundable deposit, but to access it you have to walk through the gym, which is kind of weird. There is a communal "mail area" where packages are left to sit under a security camera. I had one package stolen, and ended up being reimbursed by the landlord after a week of back-and-forths with them. There are shared grills on the 2nd floor patio. They used to be nice Kenmore Elites, but have now been "upgraded" to a lower-quality brand. They have added some communal seating out there which is nice too. Underground parking is extremely overpriced at nearly $170 a month. We're not downtown, are we...? Upon moving out, you will literally have to hire your own cleaning crew in order to avoid their cleaning fees. If the apartment is not immaculate upon your departure, you will lose about a quarter of your security deposit. Paint, patching nail holes, scrubbing the oven, etc. It is ridiculous. Overall, it's a nice location if you're a resident or medical student, but you can find a much better value if you look around. Management was very one-sided and by the books, not very easy to reason with."
