The Monticello Apartments

"I've been living here for a few years and I like the experience. The apartment has in-unit washer and dryer, which is not available in other nearby apartments. The location is also great for students, it's close to the bus station and many supermarkets like wholefoods. Overall this is a great choice for nearby students."

"The security at Monticello is terrible. The packages are being stolen and the apartments on the 1st floor are being broken in. NO security camera at all!! If you are living in Monticello, MOVE OUT; if you are living at somewhere else, NEVER move into Monticello!! Katz management is not doing what they are supposed to do. I am sooo dispointed."

"The apartments are okay and the location is nice, but management needs to work on their communication. My experience living here was good until the last 2 months of my lease. Water started leaking from my ceiling light, so I called maintenance and they cut a hole in my ceiling and determined the roof was leaking. They stapled a tarp to the ceiling to cover the hole and cut holes in the tarp so the water could still drain out as a “temporary solution”. They said they would fix the roof and come back to fix my ceiling when it stopped raining, but they never did. I sent multiple follow up emails to both The Monticello and the property manager, but I never received a response. I also submitted a maintenance request, but no one followed up on it. When I called The Monticello a few weeks later they said they needed to hire contractors and they would get back to me, but they didn’t. When I moved out a month later, they still had not fixed the roof or my ceiling and it was still leaking whenever it rained. There is probably so much water damage in the attic/ceiling and based on management’s response to the situation, I would not recommend living here. Edit: I called maintenance on 7/12/2023 to report the initial water leak and that’s when they came to my apartment. After not hearing any updates for a couple weeks, I submitted a maintenance request on 7/29. I still had not received any updates by the time I moved out on 8/31. It would have been nice for management to at least acknowledge the situation."

"Katz Property management has been spectacular. The office workers have been incredible, the maintenance guys are nice, the building is clean and the grounds are well kept, the neighbors are friendly and the approval process was quick and easy. Audrey got me into a new apartment in two days without any problems and has been helpful throughout my move in struggle. She’s a gem. I have never had such personal attention from a property management company before and I’m very happy with my choice of residence."
