"I am 68 years young, and when I was 12, our family moved here. 3838 S. Miner Street, brand new buildings! 1967, a long time ago! Rent was $129, the reason why I remember is because it was a lot of money for us. I wonder what the rent is going for now? The only bad thing that happened to us was someone helped themselves to our items in the chicken wired storage space. I believe washers and dryers cost 35 cents. lol The woods nearby were beautiful. When they built the 2 level apartments across the street, that was a big deal, how beautiful those apartments were!! Thanks for listening :)"

"Place is a dump. Do not rent here. Freeze in the winter due to poor heating and sweat in the summer with their joke of an air conditioner. The slum lords of this property do not care about the people who spend way too much money to live here. Management gives you the runaround. Maintenance halfasses every job they're put on. Literally could not wait to move out. This place needs demolished. *EDIT* After I moved out I waited 3 weeks for my sec deposit before I emailed them about it. Was told it was issued right after I moved. "It must be taking a while". I check my account on the apartments website and they issued it the day I emailed. Lied to. They also had a data breach in November 2022 so whos knows what the repercussions of that will be. Avoid this place. Please."

"Lack of mainance, too expensive, lack of fixtures etc and rude people. I had a bad experience living at Southgate!! They charge for the minimum thing they can to not give back the deposit! When I moved left the apartment intact only damage done was a small piece of carpet because I cared for a dog and left him home alone and he ripped a small square. I report it and was told they had to replace the carpet due to they change it every 5 years and the person that lived there before me did live 5+ years and they did not replace it so I moved and they broke a light bulb and charged me for it!!! The only thing I had to pay was the last 3months of rent for early move out maybe the carpet and a door but they charged me 3,000 dollars total and all they did was added the small piece missing from the carpet and replaced the cheap wooden door! Never AGAIN will I go live here nor recommend it!!! My friend moved in days after I moved and he didnt even fully moved in when he found out his rent was 985+ for 2bed small apartment and was also charged for early move out and "damages" mind you he did not stay there when he moved!! They will rip you off on the price and not worth it!! They mainance guy do lack of work very cheap many stuff in the apartment come damaged or not working well and they are aware of it and dont mention it either, oh and they will NOT show you the apartment you are moving into until your keys are given on the 15th of any moving month!!!!"
