"First off, Larry (the building manager) is awesome. He's up front with you, gets things done promptly, is easy to get in touch with, and is overall a good person...at least he was at first. He became harder and harder to get ahold of, and slower to respond to maintenance requests. He is who you will be dealing with to rent, and beyond; and he makes living there worth it on his own, despite some regression. That's where they get 1 star from - Larry. In terms of pricing, the apartment is super basic, and they charge comparable to a place with much better amenties. As for the management company, they are lucky to have Larry, because they're terrible. They are rude (especially Sue), hard to get into contact with. Specific to my situation: I was a pain when it came to some personal issues I was having (non financial), and we ended up parting ways as I was not renewed. After I moved out I was charged $650. I left that apartment spotless, and to boot, they ended up remodeling/upgrading it right when I moved out. So thanks for passing on your costs to a previous tenant who always paid on time and kept the apartment clean. Side note, the washer and dryer is always broken."
"Have tried countless times to get in touch to potentially lease/buy property from this company. I am always amazed by how rude the employees are when I call to check in on my inquiry. Have yet to hear from any sort of property manager on properties that are available. There is an old woman who seems to hate her life that works reception. I stopped in the other day after my calls had been ignored and she seemed like I was inconveniencing her day even though I’d been trying to get in touch with the company for months. Terrible service. Would love to hear from this so-called “Sue” that is supposed to have called me multiple times. Apparently, she’s only in after noon."
"Expect the washer and dryer to be broken all the time. Parking is horrible. Terrace Realty employee is extremely rude! Can’t wait until the lease is done here! Edit: We did move out and they kept most of the security deposit. They charged $400 to paint which is not allowed for normal wear. They kept $200 to replace 5 cheap mini blinds. They also won’t return my calls. Worst apartment experience ever."
"DO NOT RENT HERE. From top bottom the employees here are rude and aggressive. There is a no subleasing clause in the lease for a reason. When I moved in to a newer addition to the apartment building the apartment wasn’t finished. The maintenance man had to come multiple times to finishing hanging things up and installing things and the microwave was broken. When we toured the place, we opened the closet door and it came off the track and the maintenance man tried saying it was our fault and not that he clearly just didn’t install it correctly. (almost a year into living here and it’s still broken). He had tracked in a bunch of salty snow and what looked like dust all over the floors and it didn’t clean it before we moved in so we were left to clean our new apartment upon move in. The maintenance man is extremely passive aggressive and rude in both his text messages and how he will speak to you in person. Having issues, I called the realty office and a woman named sue was so blatantly rude immediately upon picking up the phone I couldn’t believe it. She kept telling me if I had problems I needed to speak to larry (the maintenance man) but if I had issues with larry why would I contact him. Also he’s just MAINTENANCE he doesn’t manage the building. I wanted to rent the last parking spot, the only one available is directly next to the garbage bins so you can only open the door on the passenger side anyways, so when I asked if the price was the same for all parking spots or if there was a discount on that spot being so crummy she told me that the other spots are more but i’m almost certain she’s lying to me. I wanted to rent the spot regardless because there’s no street parking available if you come home later than 5pm and if I could get the spot earlier than the 1st and pay a prorated amount, she told me yes. I get ready to send a check and she calls me back and told me that since I already asked larry (maintenance) and he told me no that she wasn’t going to rent it to me. HOW UNPROFESSIONAL. I wish when I moved I looked up the realty company because all of these reviews are entirely accurate. DO NOT RENT HERE, you cannot get out of your lease or sublease."
"Like many other reviewers, maintenance and upkeep is there shortfall. Getting things repaired through the building manager is like pulling teeth, and that’s if she even answers or responds to your calls which is practically never. Then the personal they send are definitely questionable as to whether they even are maintenance by trade. You would think since the owner is a wisconsin state senator he would atleast attempt to have a good reputation among his tenants……unfortunately that isn’t the case. I’d expect this much from a democrat, but not a Republican. Rent goes up every year while upkeep goes down."
