"HEYO! I've been attending at this school for nine years. And I've got to say the elementary campus is SO MUCH BETTER than this one. This school needs a lot more funding. I'm glad that they're building a football field for the school now but there needs to be a lot of work done with this school. There's no lockers so you have to carry heavy books at the beginning of school (bring a roller backpack trust me your back will be thanking you), this school has a lot of space that they can use for many things I don't know why some of the rooms are used for storage it doesn't make any sense. I feel like middle school needs better classes because to be honest in our science textbook we only learned three chapters and there's like 20, yall need new history textbooks because TCI is one of the most boring, white washed books ever. I mean history is boring but the textbook could at least teach us other parts in history. Anyways I gotta say SPANISH is fun. The teacher is really nice so I would recommend picking Spanish as your elective (if you want to). The lunch is sickening. Don't get the pizza please or the nachos. My friend threw up and I got a little sick from it too. Sometimes they just freeze the food for like days and then serve it to you. The breakfast burritos are bomb though. This school is very LGBTQ+ friendly. GSA is fun. Theres a lot of slurs and homophobia going on but thats the students. Other than THOSE students the other students are nice. The teachers are nice to thier students and do their job pretty well. Oh btw if you need to go to the nurse and you're injured or sick don't expect to be going home. I do have to say though even though this school has a lot of flaws I had a great time here and its the people here who make it fun. So if you're reading this and planning on going to this school. I hope you have fun honestly. It sure is an experience. Thank you CCAA for such bittersweet memories. And btw if you're attending 8th grade DONT procrastinate on the Newton scooter project. -B.D.H "
"My son has attended CCAA since Kindergarten. He is about to start his Jr year. You won't find more dedicated and passionate teachers, counselors and support staff. He likes the smaller school. He is excelling in his classes even with the distance learning and taking concurrent college courses at ARC. During middle school he took advantage of the East Coast Trip to Washington DC & New York City. The consistency of having the same 2 teachers for 7th & same 2 teachers for 8th made the transition from elementary to HS smooth. Great principal & VP that are very involved. UPDATE: My son has almost finished his junior year and is taking both AP Biology and AP Language along with concurrent enrollment at ARC. The counselor has been instrumental in helping him take college courses since 9th grade. He is also on the tennis team for the 2nd year and the PE instructor has done an amazing job bringing more sports opportunities to our students due to a great working relationship with Highlands HS. He is also enrolled in Career Technology Education (CTE) with 2 year commitment to Digital Media. Not only is he learning Photoshop and Adobe but he is also learning how to be a reporter for CCAA News and film news broadcasts and podcasts. He is also taking beginning piano and is looking forward to Jazz Band next year. This is an amazing school with dedicated teachers and staff. Despite parent involvement requirements, it seems like only a handful of involved parents actually are involved and help out. 15 hours of community service is required annually for all students, which I think is awesome and there are lots of opportunities to do so."
"I’ve met pretty cool people here, and this school can be very accepting. However, while the teachers are nice, some of them kind of don’t know how to be teachers. Integrated math was extremely boring and one of the teachers here is just not professional. And the dance teacher (now history teacher) looses her cool VERY frequently and yells at us. And the environment is a little to laid back and lazy for people that want to face the challenges of the real world. And the way they do online classes is VERY slow. But I do like that they’re very accepting and are willing to help high school students get into a college of their choice. I no longer go to this school, do I don’t know what’s going on now, but this is just from my experience."
"The school is so accepting! At my other school the children were so rude and popular, but here at ccaa we don't have to worry about popularity everyone is even. I also like the fact that the LGBT community is also involved because ever since my sister came out I thought she was going to be bullied for this. The best part is that they have a GSA!! Highly recommend School!!"
"We have been trying to get our daughter into this school since 7 grade. Happy we finally got in.... She'll be starting her freshman year In the end of 2019 I'll give a better review next year, and hopefully my opinion of this school remains the same"
