"I was excited to find a local business to help me find trumpet lessons for my child, but it turns out this is a site that wants to make money without providing any actual service. They show an instructor located on my street. I created an account and reached out to him two weeks ago with no response, so I call this business and they tell me that they have no way of contacting their instructors directly. Their only suggestion was that I do what I had already done- submit a message to the instructor through their web site. They also incorrectly asserted that I did not have an account with them, which is very strange because I was logged into my profile while I was on the phone with them, but they claimed they could not find it. They also claim that they screen and confirm all of their instructors, but then tell you that they do not have any means of contacting them directly in cases of non-response (sounds like either a lie or a very poorly desgined instructor database). They said if I submitted a request for lessons again and there was no reply in 48 hours then this instructor would be removed, yet they could not explain why this instructor had not already been removed given that my first inquiry has gone nearly two weeks without a response. 15 minute call with them and they could offer nothing in the way of customer service that could get me any closer to finding a trumpet instructor in my area."

"Wish I could give zero stars. As a tutor, we are required to set up our availability on our profiles. Occasionally, there will be times when a student will request a day or time that we are unable to accommodate. I had to decline a student and received an email from Mario Hernandez saying "you have declined or missed 8 new students" and then "to us as a company, 8 students is very problematic," even though I had worked for them for 4 years. I was in a TakeLessons Facebook group where I asked if this was a normal occurrence. The post was immediately removed by a person named Maria Hernandez, which is almost identical to the Mario Hernandez who had emailed me before, and then I received another email saying that my post was "highly immature and unprofessional." I believe I was discriminated against, but for what reason, I really don't know. I brought up a legitimate issue that I'm sure a lot of other tutors encountered, but it was not resolved and I suffered from retaliation from this company."
