"One challenge I had learning Mandarin was finding a class that allowed me to apply what I was taught to actual conversation. Most classes are focused on textbook learning where bringing the knowledge I learned to a real life conversation was not easy. 1 Minute Chinese has a teaching style that has a strong emphasis around speaking and listening, which I found really differentiated from the other classes I took. My speaking and listening improved to the point where I was able to navigate around by myself during a recent trip to Taiwan! Even if I did not completely understand everything I heard in a restaurant, I was able to at least be at a point where I could ask them questions or repeat the phrase, allowing me to eventually get to the point I needed. The Fun, bite-sized content is also great as they teach you things, but don't feel as tiring as listening an entire lecture. Overall, highly recommend and is a great way to learn!"
