"I'm in this school toooooo heh I'm in 4 grade in room 90 it's 2018 it's pawsome at this school ya"
"Mr Gonzalez is a great principal that really cares about the students he serves."
"I have a kindergartner and while there are some minor complaints about little things like jackets being lost and backpacks switched up, I have to say that I've been happy with our experience so far. The principal can be seen every morning at the start of school standing and welcoming parents and students at the main entrance, often calling students by name and setting a very positive tone for the day. Every staff member I've come in contact with, while frazzled and overworked, have been polite and considerate. You won't get hand holding or coddling because frankly they just don't have time or resources for that but you will get direct, accurate information. My sons teacher, Miss Cronin is very nice and it seems like she not only has lots of experience (a big plus) she also seems very excited in her role as teacher. I believe most of the issues any parent has is less about the overall performance of the teachers and staff and are more directly tied to how limited the staff is by state and federal mandates and funding. I know that no teacher would willingly choose to have 30 5 year olds in one classroom day after day yet that is the standard class size due to budget restrictions. There simply aren't enough funds to hire more teachers or teachers aids to help reduce class size and increase teacher to student ratio. Actually, one of the things that really makes me feel good about Morrison is that they're the only elementary school in the district to have dedicated class aids in all their K and PreK classrooms. That means that each class of 30 has 2 teachers to monitor, teach and show individualized attention to students. It may not seem like much but that little difference can do wonders when trying to get through a lesson or help a struggling child. Overall, I like the school and the staff. We are inter-district transfers so we may not be there next year but for a first time school interaction as a parent, its been great!"
"I cannot believe this school. My grandson is in the second grade. This week alone, another student assaulted him with a caustic chemical, (White board Cleaner). Then today, he was shoved by the same student. My grandson hit his lower abdomen on a desk which caused bruising. There was no disciplinary action taken other than a "write up". Really??? When my wife went to complain, the Dean Mrs. Togia told her "There is noting I can do. The teacher has 30 students and cannot keep an eye on everyone at the same time. Even if we move him to another class he can possibly have the same issue with a different student". We have no choice other than pull my grandson from this school and bring these issues to the districts attention."
