"This is one of the best places to learn paragliding and have an introductory tandem ride. I have full confidence in the safety and professionalism of the staff, and they sure know how to have fun! It sure was for me and my son - we each took off with a tandem pilot in control and followed each other above the dunes for about 20 minutes. You'll glide effortlessly above the scenic dunes of Monterey Bay with the Pacific ocean beyond. If you're lucky you'll see whales spout. This can be an unforgetable experience! As an instructor-rated hang glider pilot that wanted to learn paragliding, I really know what to look for and how to judge instruction, site conditions, and the tradeoff between fun and work when learning. The section of dunes just North of Monterey is nearly ideal - it's 7 miles long and fairly tall, and gets consistent winds for hours on end many months of the year. This means you can learn to handle the wing and fly with the wind providing the velocity needed to "kite" or fly, instead of your own legs running down and trudging back up the sand dune. Highly recommended!"
