"I absolutely loved this phlebotomy program. I opted for the 2 week, all-day course. It had been quite a few years since I had last been in school as I am using this program for a career change, so I was nervous about doing the 2 week intensive course since it would be so much material to cover so quickly, but Tracy was such an excellent teacher that my nervousness was relieved in the first day! It is, of course, still a lot of information to absorb so quickly but Tracy made sure to adapt to the class’s pace as a whole to ensure we all were following. She was very approachable and it felt very easy and comfortable to ask questions throughout the class. Her teaching style worked really well for me, and I think our whole class felt the same. The memory joggers and anecdotes she shared were super helpful for getting my brain to remember what I needed to! She did a wonderful job preparing our class for the NCCT exam, and also for preparing us for our futures as working professionals. In labs, we got lots of practice drawing blood and Tracy respected the pace for those less comfortable starting off while still making sure we get the experience we need and challenge ourselves until we’re comfortable with the different needles and drawing from different veins by the end of the course. Most of us were so nervous the first day, but we were all comfortable performing blood draws in no time! The entire BAMA staff have all been so helpful and are clearly focused on preparing their students to succeed in the workplace and be the best phlebotomists out there! They outline the necessary steps for licensure very clearly and really are there every step of the way if you need help. I can’t recommend this school enough!"

"Several years ago I decided to invest in myself and attend BAMA institute at the SJ campus to learn the skills needed to become a phlebotomist in the Bay Area. The course did not waste time and after several weeks of classroom learning and a mountain of practice with needles at the site I was sent to take my license exams and passed easily on the first attempt! BAMA Institute also made it easy to be placed at a clinical site to get my hours but don’t worry if they don’t pick you up as an employee after your time there, Quest and Labcorp always need new grads and frankly they give the best new grad experience. BAMA Institute set me up for success and after working at one quest for a few months, I was able to transfer to the most comfortable quest in the Bay Area for a few more months before getting 2 offers to work as a travel phlebotomist for 50 dollars an hour on a contract in LA and a phenomenal position at Sutter as a Level 3 Phlebotomist. BAMA institutes’ instructors like Professor Lowe teach you not only how to get a difficult blood draw, but also helps you with the interpersonal and professional aspect of the job so that when you are applying to the more prestigious jobs, you’ve got the skills to get them."

"I would highly recommend BAMA. Mrs Tracy is a great teacher. When I was taking my NCCT test I can hear her lectures from class in my head. The brother and sister (I forgot their names) that helped with labs are knowledgeable and so supportive. BAMA helps with signing you up for the NCCT test to externship and everything else in between. All you have to do is show up and do the work. I was done in 4 months!"
