"I go to a charter school which is called University Preparatory Academy, but all my friends go to Caroline Davis Intermediate, so when we all enter high school we all going to Oak Grove High School, so I just want to know is this a ghetto school, average school, or great school, plz hmu."
"Had amazing teachers, and good exposure to the bay area students with a lot of diversity. Decent courts to play and tracks are well maintained. Good group of classmates who I have come across last year."
"The only thing bad about this school is that it had a very bad year at the school and that school year was 2009-2010, just think about it. Imagine that year with a bunch of guys wearing beanies and people with the old Justin beiber hair and people with the skater looks, just a absolute trash at the year"
"Oak Grove is a large closed campus high school that has been recently slightly renovated with the help of Nvidia. The teachers do an amazing job with not just teaching the curriculum, but including life lessons in their teaching sessions as well. Teachers are very approachable and fun to be around. Of course there is a few black sheep of teachers that are just bad at their job, lack motivation, or simply both, but the great teachers will always be there to outshine the bad ones From my experience, whatever passion you have (computer science, band, JROTC, game development, engineering) students really don't tease you. Speaking of passions there are a ton of active clubs awaiting students to join. Examples: gaming club, French club, robotics, Polynesian, and my favorite, debate team. Electives are plentiful, however I would have love to see more. There are a lot of sports you can play as well like: basketball, football, soccer, swimming, cross country, track and field, volleyball, badminton, and more. Going into some negatives I agree that bathrooms definitely need to be changed. It is consistently left unattended and the boys bathroom didn't have soap for roughly over 4-5 months. Crazy right?! There are no lockers, so it's required you bring your backpack everywhere you go. Some teachers will make accommodations during break or lunch, but you'll need to ask. Cafeteria lunch is just bareable, but no where near great. The school does have great seasonal food though for Thanksgiving such as turkey and mashed potatoes with gravy and a sweet on the side. You can apply for work at the cafeteria as well for a monthly pay. There is fights from time to time; however, they are infrequent. The school is underfunded, but does reinvest the money it gains back into students. At the end of the day, I love the school a lot and will most certainly miss it's atmosphere. I was apart of computer science, AP computer science, chess club, gaming club, MSA, and debate team. Best times I've had! Class of 2017. This was meant to be an in-depth review for future students or parents that want to be informed more about the school."
