Life Academy of Health and Bioscience is a prestigious public high school located in Oakland, California. Established in 2001, we cater to students from diverse backgrounds in grades 6 through 12. Our school offers a challenging academic curriculum with a focus on Health and BioScience, preparing students for future careers in the healthcare industry. We provide hands-on learning experiences through project-based learning, field trips, and internship programs in the health and science fields.

Life Academy boasts the highest UC and CSU acceptance rate in Oakland, with graduates attending top universities such as Stanford, UC Berkeley, and UCLA. Our teachers collaborate on grade level “defenses” where students present portfolio projects on important topics like supporting transgender youth and addressing HIV rates in the community.

In middle school, we emphasize literacy, language skills, and science concepts, while high school students fulfill A-G requirements and explore various health-related topics and careers. Our teachers prioritize building strong relationships with students and families through daily advisory meetings and biannual family conferences.
