"Today I got a massage at the National Holistic Institute Massage Clinic and it was exceptional! Claudia was my masseuse, and she provided the best massage I've ever received. Opting for a Swedish technique, she demonstrated great skill, ensuring every tension spot was addressed. Her communication throughout was top-notch, making sure I was comfortable and the pressure was just right. I booked the 100-minute session, and it was worth every minute. Also, Jim at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming."
"This massage school used to be so much better before they moved locations. It's much smaller now. The quality of the massages were much better before & the attitudes of the staff & students used to be better before. I'm wondering if they lost a key instructor & management. I've tried them twice recently & neither massage was good. The people at the front desk just ignore people coming in for a massage. I won't be returning. So sad. This used to be a good place to go. I predict this school won't be around for very long."
"When I enrolled with NHI to become a professional massage therapist I had no idea what was to come. A truly life transforming experience. When we began our classes at the end of March 2020 for the Eastern segment of our eight month training, group 31 met for the first time, not on campus but on zoom. Not exactly what we were expecting for hands on bodywork experience. As we went through the first few days there was a sneaking suspicion about the fact that a lockdown was coming due to the threat of a pandemic, Covid19. How long we would be attending our classes on zoom, however, was unknown and it looked as though we would be remote learning for the foreseeable future. As it turned out Group 31 persevered along with our dedicated teachers and staff working each day with everything from technology issues, class schedules while continuing to look for updates on the pandemic. We went all the way through to September into the Western segment and suddenly faced a new challenge. Getting back to campus to do hands on bodywork. The first day we returned I remember helping Josh, our campus manager bring the massage tables out to the tent in the back parking lot to set up. This was quite an experience. I was immediately impressed with the dedication and perseverance Josh and all the staff showed in trying to get us wifi for our classmates who were not ready to come back to campus and in setting up a safe learning environment for the students eager to start getting hands-on experience. Nothing was left to chance with our safety coming back to campus. We filled in all the appropriate paperwork to make sure everything was in place and the staff at NHI took our temperatures and made sure we were not experiencing symptoms. This was no easy task and I commend NHI with the measures they took to ensure a safe environment for our return. Going through the daily health checks quickly became the norm and we adjusted to doing bodywork outside as well as splitting our classes on zoom to make sure the other groups coming through had time on campus as well. The staff and teachers continued to do an amazing job co - ordinating classes and rotating these groups between online classes and on campus instruction to ensure a safe environment for all the students. The entire way through the course despite the unknown factors of the pandemic, everyone working at NHI made themselves available to us, answering questions about online books, externship queries, employer zoom meetups, exam prep and study labs as well as our OOCW assignments to complete. Thinking back on my journey and the words I would impart to future students wanting to become a Massage Therapist I would say: "Have a picture in your head of who you want to be and what you want to have achieved on this journey. A vision of what you wish to contribute that will be a guiding light of motivation along the way. Be opened - minded as well as open - hearted because the commitment you make for yourself today will not only benefit you but all the people whose lives you will touch when you get into the job you dream of." Most importantly... trust the process. Finally, what I will take with me out into the world are the heartfelt connections I made at NHI during the course. These I will keep for life. I certainly came out feeling like I was part of an extended family and was so touched by how much everyone at NHI genuinely cares about the journey of each and every student. I was always so impressed by how much each staff member and teacher invested so much of their time, energy and knowledge into every aspect of the class environment. Thank you NHI San Jose for your incredible work in helping every student have work they love! Thanks so much for everything you did for us Josh, Kristine and all the teachers and administration staff! It was so appreciated."
