Reviews of MBK Hindi Language Center
"MBK Hindi is a great place to learn Hindi and my three years of being a student there was very fun. Also, the teachers are really helpful and want you to succeed in the class. The classes there are challenging and are sometimes really stressful. But, I really like my experience there and thanks to Madhu Ji for making it possible!"
"Three years ago, I took this class as a replacement for Spanish for my college language credit. Rather than taking it as a language I could learn, I had taken the language solely for the purpose of receiving credit for a language. But, as I began going to this class I began to realize how lucky I was to be part of MBK Hindi. The teachers at MBK, teach solely on the basis of trying to find a way to teach the students so that, the students can learn to their most optimum level. Because of the hard working teachers and the curriculum taught to me and the other students the learning is maximized. I went from not being able to read a single word in Hindi to being able to read whole books. MBK is truly a great learning center for being able to learn Hindi and I guarantee anyone who joins will learn more than they thought possible."
"This is my third year with MBK and I truly enjoyed the experience. I was interested in MBK because I wanted to learn Hindi, so that I learn more about India and converse with my family in India. The teachers are experienced and very helpful. One of the cool things about the Hindi program for me is that I get to meet people who go to different schools and it gave me an opportunity to make new friends. We have all bonded over group projects, class discussions, breaks, and field trips. Every year we read books, learn about important people and learn a lot of vocabulary. However, since I am in my junior year in high school and Hindi 3 is a lot more vigorous, it has been a little challenging. Nevertheless, Madhu Aunty has been really supportive and has offered me a lot of help throughout the year. The program is outside school, so the only disadvantage is that my parents have to drive me to every class. We are lucky to have MBK in the bay area where we get to learn our language and get High School credits as well. --Nikita Pasumarthi"
"I am currently in my third year of Hindi class with MBK. I have learned so much in the time I have attended this class that I am able to read the signs and books in India and converse with many of my relatives very easily. In MBK, Hindi students are educated well about the Hindi language as well as the Hindu religion. The two aspects of MBK come together well because we read books that are associated with Hinduism in the Hindi language. This helps students develop a better understanding for what India is like. Students learn how to speak, write, read, and converse easily in Hindi. The teachers help out students by focusing on individuals that need help until the student thoroughly understands. MBK is a great program for any child that would like to learn a language that is not as common as others!"
"This is my third year in MBK and I have greatly improved in writing and speaking Hindi. In Hindi one, I came to the class hardly knowing the alphabet, and could not speak Hindi. Through my years in Hindi, my reading, writing, and conversational skills have improved ten fold. I can now carry on a conversation in Hindi. In MBK, we have read a variety of books and texts that are interesting and easy to comprehend. The books are chosen thoughtfully and taught very well. Projects are given appropriately and sometimes curved around our tight school schedules. I highly recommend this program as it has improved my Hindi speaking, reading, and writing skills."
