Welcome to the website of the Ukrainian School of San Francisco! Our mission is to teach the Ukrainian language, culture, and history to children of elementary and middle school age. No matter what your level of proficiency in the language is, we welcome all who have a desire to learn and are interested in the culture of our country.

The main goal of the Ukrainian School of San Francisco is to provide students with the knowledge of the language and culture of the Ukrainian people necessary for their self-identification as Ukrainians. We aim to give children the opportunity to preserve and improve their proficiency in the Ukrainian language.

The school helps children learn to read and write in Ukrainian. We introduce students to the history of Ukraine, complementing their knowledge of world history acquired in American schools. Music, drama, and visual arts are focused on acquiring knowledge and skills in Ukrainian folk and applied arts. Most importantly, we want to instill in both children and parents a sense of belonging to the Ukrainian community in the United States and to the Ukrainian people worldwide.

The Ukrainian School of San Francisco is a Sunday school for children of elementary and middle school age located in San Francisco, California, USA. Founded, managed, and supported by a group of enthusiastic parents, the school aims to teach children the Ukrainian language, history, and culture. In addition, the school also holds open lessons and concerts for holidays. The school program consists of eight classes (from preparatory to seventh grade) held once a week. The school operates on a non-profit basis, with all teachers and staff being parent volunteers. The annual contribution is $500 per student, and all funds go towards the rent of the premises and the purchase of educational materials for the children. The school also has a library.
