"Dave started teaching piano to my then-8-year-old in early 2020, in the middle of our shelter-in-place order, on Zoom. Teaching keyboard skills remotely is a tall order for anyone; teaching them to an 8-year-old who is powerfully struggling with the loss of normalcy in his life is exponentially more challenging. Dave rose to the occasion with patience, grace and good humor. Three years later, my kiddo is a confident performer. He's started learning electric guitar from Dave, who has also coached him on his voice and performance skills in general. He always feels supported performing in Dave's student recitals, but he has also discovered an interest in student theater, and even became a finalist in a rap competition! Having a creative outlet like music is so important for emotional well-being. I'm so happy that my son has, in Dave, a great teacher helping him to keep music a vital part of his life."
