"I graduated Monroe in 2017 and the staffs and teachers are great. I was in Chinese Immersion. I can't remember whats the name of my kindergarten teacher but my teachers through 1st to 5th grade where: Ms.Zhong(retired) Ms.Tang, Ms.Sun, Mr.Sun(retired, he taught 4th and 5th)"
"very very good school. My son is third grade in this school. The teacher is nice and the principal is very good. I will let my second daughter to this school next year."
"I graduated from Monroe elementary in 1975. I went to Excelsior when the old Monroe was torn down & rebuilt. I knew & kept in touch with Mr Ryan, the school Principal. George he'd tell me to call him once I graduated Balboa. "Robert, call me George, Mr Ryan makes me feel old". I would say George, you are! (RIP). Good memories. My parents still live a block up on Edinburgh. Have a great school year staff & children. It's a wonderful school in a great environment which helps make it easy to learn. Puts you on course for a bright future."
"My son is in 1st grade of Spanish Immersion. His teachers so far have been dedicated, talented, and outstanding. I'm so impressed by the diversity of the school community and how the school staff make it all work."
"Our three daughters all attend this school, which happens to be in our neighborhood. They're in the Spanish immersion strand, one of the three strands at Monroe (the other two being Chinese bilingual and General Education). Hardworking teachers and staff and involved parents make this a wonderful school community. Currently the school facilities are undergoing renovations, to be completed by the start of school year 2015-16. For this year (2013-14) and next (2014-15), 2nd and 3rd graders are offsite at Mission Education Center--which hasn't been as big of an issue as one might expect."
