Iowa Cabin Rentals 1756 Great River Road, Lansing, IA 52151

"I originally booked a cabin with a different company off of VRBO. She had double booked the listing and I guess somehow got us a place here to stay instead. Upon arriving to the property, we could not locate basic items such as bed linens, towels, soap, etc as were stated would be included. I called the original VRBO listing manager, who was very rude to me. Then the actual owner of this property called me who also was very rude to me. They both made it my fault that there was a double booking. It is odd that they claimed they were not associated but this property had the other owner listed as an emergency contact on their answering machine. It was very distressing, especially after a long day in the car when we all wanted to shower and go to bed. The items were eventually provided after much arguing and condescension from the owner. However, the items did not smell clean and a few of the towels were torn and ratty. The location itself is very remote. The house itself is a little odd, and I would not have chosen it myself. The floors were not vacuumed. There were hair and crumbs all over the place. There were wine bottles and glasses and beer cans left around the hot tub. One of the bedrooms had a broken fan that was stuck on high speed and a broken boxspring. One of the bedrooms was in a garage and was very cold. Another bedroom had a light shining through its window directly onto the bed from a garage room that we could not access to turn the light off. There are also multiple exposed wires so I would be wary of bringing children. We loved the area of Iowa and had fun but I would recommend finding a different company to stay with that will treat you like a human. In response to the owners response, you can see that he is quick to belittle me, again. But it seems I am not the only one having a poor time with this company."

"We recently stayed in Trout Lodge, and after multiple ways of trying to communicate with owner/manager and not hearing much back, I am posting this review. We were not able to sleep in the overflow as the ac was not cooling, and when it was cool enough outside, we could not open windows as there were no screens in windows. The charcoal grill had the handle kinda held on with wire and the gas grill was leaning pretty good due to missing bolts. There was a rancid garbage can on the deck next to damp traeger pellets. The patio chairs are close to failure as the cloth is rotting, and there are multiple burned out or missing lights and a recliner has a missing handle. The ad for this location does not match what was there. I understand the dead trees and the growth next to the stream, no issues there. I stayed and used what we were able to at the site; but I do not feel that the $1200 for 3 days is feasible."

"We had an amazing few days at the Creekside Cottage! We went up for our honeymoon and it did not disappoint. The cabins are cozy and very clean! Wouldn’t mind going up during winter to snuggle up with a fire going! The 1st night a big storm came in and we lost our water heater and wouldn’t be fixed for a day or 2, this was no fault of the owners, Cory, the gentleman that manages the cabin we were staying in, offered 2 of his own cabins for us to shower in when they were not occupied. We will definitely make this an annual thing! Trout fishing was great also! There were so many places to fish! Thank you Cory for your professionalism! We truly appreciated it! We will be back to try other cabins!"

"This was my third time renting a cabin through here and it was absolutely wonderful. My family and I stayed at White Pine for four nights. (We had originally booked for three nights but we loved it so much that on the morning of checkout we did not want to leave. We contacted them and asked for another night and it was no problem at all. They even gave us a discounted rate and they were extremely professional and courteous to me.) The cabin itself was clean and tastefully decorated. I especially loved the gorgeous pub table and chairs with the claw feet. (I wish now that I had taken a picture!) It was just the right size for the five of us, plenty of room. But the best part was the natural pool and scenery! It was breathtaking! We also enjoyed the large hot tub and fire pit. I cannot say thank you enough for the memories that were made over these four days as they will live in my heart forever. I cannot wait to try out the Moose Lodge next!"
