It is my understanding that Dr Dolhun is retiring. While I'm elated for her as a retiree myself, just know that my heart is heavy, knowing the OBGYN community is LOSING a CLASS ACT and a one of a kind physician."

"I went to see Dr. Dolhun twice within the last 6 months - once for an annual and once because I had symptoms that needed immediate medical attention. At the first appointment, she was cold, brief, and made me feel dismissed and uncomfortable. I had already decided not to see her again after the first appointment because of how uncomfortable I felt from her bedside manner, or lack thereof, but I had to get immediate help for some issues that suddenly arose, so I went back out of necessity. During the second appointment, the doctor's assistant/nurse went over my symptoms. In the hallway, she asked me a personal question that should have been left behind a closed door. Later, when I detailed my symptoms to the nurse, she commented, "That's weird." This was unnecessary and unprofessional. Once the doctor got in, she went over the symptoms with me while facing the other direction and never making eye contact. She wrote a lot of notes and did not show empathy or even explain possible causes. She never asked me if I thought I may be pregnant which was definitely a possibility to explain my symptoms. Instead, she referred me to a urologist. During the exam itself, she was very rough with the pelvic exam, and I was brought to tears when she was performing this exam. I was stating loudly and clearly that she was causing me pain, but she continued to do what she was doing and made comments about me being sensitive which felt dismissing and invalidating - especially while in an incredibly vulnerable position. After the appointment, my body was in such pain from the pelvic exam - worse than I had felt before going in - that I regret attempting to see her again. Three weeks later, I found out that I am pregnant. Again, this was never mentioned during the exam or talked about by Dr. Dolhun. My symptoms were confirmed by another doctor to be perfectly normal for early pregnancy. I would not recommend this doctor. It was upsetting and distressing."
