"I have been to many temples and monasteries around the world, before I was a monk and as a Buddhist monk and, I must say, Diamond Zen Center is at the top of my list of favorites places. It is situated far away from the city, about 4,000 miles up the mountain towards Idyllwild, CA, but not too far away to be inaccessible to people seeking solitude or meditation retreats. It is a very gorgeous and quiescent place. The residents are kind and courteous and the monks are wise and highly skilled meditators. I stayed there for 6ish weeks; and I truly enjoyed my time bonding with the community. There’s plenty of merit to make by helping them build and expand their lovely monastery grounds. I will definitely return there one day for a meditation retreat"

"Buddhist Temple on the way to Idyllwild. Have been there several times over the past 10 years and the place seems deteriorating a little bit more every time. In the beginning they had a lake, now everything dry and run down. Still a peaceful, tranquil place though."

"I was out looking for a wedding venue one day and say the sign on the 243. I didnt know if this was a real place. Despite the drive down looking like the beginning of a horror film. I was surprised to find amazing structures (mostly looking abandoned). I walked around the lot, no one was around. I knocked on a few doors, no answer. Lake was dried up. Most things looked like they were in disrepair. Strange. Scary?"
