"These penny pinchers now came up with a very petty way to avoid paying their customers the miserable Free Rewards Checking they offer to pay every month. SCU, YOU’RE PATHETIC! “Effective September 1, 2022, the monthly qualification cycle for Free Rewards Checking will begin on the first calendar day of the month and end on the last calendar day of the month. You must view your monthly statement by logging in to Online Banking or Mobile App by 7:00 p.m. on the last day of the qualification cycle to meet one of the qualification criteria.” Moreover, after over two decades of banking with SCU, I’ve decided to close my account because of the lame customer service. Out of indignation, I asked for a reimbursement for some ATM fees that incurred for using ATMs out of their network, and they refused. The reason I had to use those ATMs was due to their misinformation. It’s peanuts for them, but instead of providing a courtesy to a long time customer, they just shrug and pretty much implied they don’t need me or my money. Hey, SCU, you used to have more common sense and a quality customer service. Your misinformation cost me money, time, patience, and caused a lot of hassle to me. I’ll inform as many people as possible about your lame customer service and leave reviews like this everywhere I can."
"I considered opening an account but decided not too after watching the TikTok of Jovanna Chaves cussing and yelling at employees at a Boba shop. I can already imagine how she treats and thinks of members."
"I wanted to move my banking to a local credit union, so I got a mortgage, credit card, savings and checking with them. Holy guacamole it's been a hard few years. Their automated phone line says 'no voicemail box set up' and hangs up on you after waiting 5 minutes, which is most times you call. Their mobile app limits how you can pay off your card so you get more charges. There are a lot of internal surprise rules about when they can process certain things which will always get in your way. Definitely the least custoer friendly financial institution I've ever worked with, so I closed my accounts."
"Worst service ANYWHERE. I have been a member for years, and maintained my membership for good auto loan rates. I have attempted to apply for both mortgage and auto loans in the past year only to have my applications and emails "lost" twice now. Lots of apologies but no action. Parking is ridiculous near my branch and their online services are something out of the 90's. Once, they froze my debit card when I bought a tank of gas in Carson City. The gal at the branch told me I had to notify them anytime I planned to leave town or they would freeze my account for my own security. Telling her I travel every day didn't matter. No amount of talking could change her mind. SCU "upgraded" their on-line banking. I was locked out and the computer program stated I needed to call on the phone to unlock my account. I spent hours trying to get through. Never could get a live person. I tried at different times over several days. A recorded message eventually came on saying they were experiencing high call volumes due to the new online banking system. I eventually drove down there, having to park several blocks away and walked in. It felt so good to cancel all of my accounts with these morons. They simply can't be trusted as your financial institution."
"Was considering to become a member with sacramento credit union but I had a worst experience ever for the first time I walked into a bank, big thanks to a supervisor name Jhonn and big special thanks to kind of unprofessional (to me) cashier name Kabao, changed my mind in a blink of an eye so thank you guys so much!"
