"We have been with Sparrow for 9 years beginning in TK. All 3 of our children have greatly benefited from Sparrows holistic Waldorf inspired teaching approach. Various subjects are specifically introduced when the child is developmentally ready. I love that the teachers are actually teaching the children to THINK, experience and explore subjects rather than forcing them to memorize facts from a standardized text book. Math, Science and English are intertwined in many lessons throughout the day and the rich vocabulary they are regularly exposed to has helped with reading comprehension beyond their grade levels. Since it is a public charter school there is state testing beginning in 3rd grade (I think) and as a mama it was kind of a relief to know that a schooling system so vastly different from traditional school can produce Above Average/Above Grade Level State Test scores as in our case. In middle school they also have an additional teacher for math and he is absolutely top-notch! As a bonus Sparrow is media-free and encourages outdoor nature exploration and play! We have been very fortunate to have amazing Waldorf Trained/California Credentialed teachers for all 3 of my children. I highly recommend Sparrow Academy because the way the teachers engage the children and fully foster their natural curiosity for learning is priceless."

"My daughter's current teacher is excellent, however her previous teacher was not and this lead her to be significantly behind in reading and writing. It takes a while to redevelop a childs confidence. It also costs a lot to send your child to get tutoring for basics that she should have learned when they were in 2nd and 3rd grade. You should look into all aspects of this school prior to making the decision to send your child here."

"My stepdaughter goes here and it is awesome! The teaching staff is great and the curriculum is wonderful. I was recently here for one of my stepdaughter's assemblies. Her class performed an element skit. I loved it. This school teaches a variety of spiritual teachings on top of required GE courses. I wish they had been around when I was a kid."

She has a teacher with a doctorate degree who holds a Waldorf certificate as well as a California Credential. Her teacher is masterfully well experienced and brings magic into my daughter's life everyday."

"I think most parents are concerned about our kids growing up too fast these days and one of the best attributes of Sparrow is that the students (even 8th graders) are still acting and looking like kids! We were lucky enough to be able to start our son in Kindergarten and he's now in middle school and we couldn't be any happier. We're getting all the benefits of the Waldorf curriculum (art, music, Spanish etc) combined with public school standards but saving $20k/year if he went to the private Waldorf school. If you have a middle schooler in an environment that concerns you, get them over to Sparrow ASAP! The school has expanded and I think there are still some open spaces available."
