"I spent years going to numerous doctors and clinics trying to find the cause of all my health issues and no matter how hard I tried to stress how horrible I was feeling, they just kept giving me Medications to cover the symptoms instead of finding the root causes and treating them. I was put on medications that caused horrible side affects and I was made to feel like I did something wrong when I chose to no longer take it. I was never made to feel like I mattered, and that my health was a priority Until I found Birchwood family medicine. The doctor takes her time during your appointments to listen to you and sympathize with you, and really get down to what could be causing the issues. She then gives you an open toolbox, full of tools, and you get to choose where you want to start. And if the tool you choose doesn’t seem to work you come back and try another one. I finally feel like I have a choice in my treatment plans and I’ve never made to feel guilty or uncomfortable when I am unsure of a medication. I feel the best I’ve felt in years and I’m slowly getting back to who I used to be. I’m quirky and weird and I talk too much, but they always seem to be happy to see me and as much as I’m sure I drive them insane some days, I know they’ll never make me feel like I don’t belong there. Now going to the doctors feels like I’m going to hang out with friends in a comfortable accepting environment. I look forward to my visits there. If you’re trying to decide on whether or not you should I say go for it. You’re going to get a level of care that you’ve never gotten before. A doctor that will literally come to your house if you’re too unwell to come to the clinic or you have issues getting there. Most of us in this generation have never seen that level of care. You only hear about it from your great grandparents who had Dr. Johnson from down the road. He wasn’t just your family doctor, He was your neighbor and your friend. You just can’t find that in the corporate clinic world. It’s the best thing I’ve done for myself in years and I hope that my children and grandchildren Will get to experience this same extraordinary level of care when they need it.
