"I had a procedure at their outpatient surgery center a couple of weeks ago. I was quickly checked in by a friendly staff member and waited no more than 10 minutes before being escorted back to begin my pre-op. Everyone I interacted with greeted me with a smile and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. Multiple nurses helped prep me, volunteering to assist my main nurse. The facility was clean. Inwas fully informed with each step they took. The procedure went smoothly, and the staff was just as wonderful post-op."
"had a surgery this month witch went really good had a great doctor and his staff. while in the hospital for 3 days was the most painful I have ever been after a surgery.night shift nurses were great cant say much for day shift.never around"
"I came in for a procedure and was taken back on time. The nurse when got me ready for surgery was wonderful, very kind and helpful. There was some kind of delay so my nurse had to leave but informed me another nurse would be taking over. Taking over what? I never saw her! She didn't even take a minute to stop and introduce herself or update me on the delay. I was alone for 2 hours except for my first nurse stopping to say goodbye. Lots of talking in the hallway but nobody seemed interested in patient care."
"On February 17, my sister underwent an extensive robotic procedure at Groth Surgery Center. The surgeon did an excellent job repairing 2 large hernias. However, her postoperative care was sorely lacking. She had a lot of pain postop, and spent 2 hours in the PACU. In spite of the fact that there was difficulty controlling her post op pain, she was sent home late in the evening. She is a widow over 70 years of age, and had a friend stay with her. The staff neglected to give her the incentive spirometer that was ordered by her surgeon, which led to post op respiratory complications. Several days postop she had to go to an ER with shortness of breath. Tests revealed she had a partial collapsed lung. There she was prescribed the incentive spirometer she should have had in the first place. A few days using this her problem resolved, but all this could have been avoided if she had received proper care immediately post op. I believe she should have been admitted to the hospital, given the late hour, postop pain control, her age and physical status. Where is the caring for patients? The staff at Groth need remedial training in proper patient care. Sadly, actual caring about people seems not to happen there. Patients and family, beware!"
"I received a warm welcome and thoughtful, respectful, high quality care from start to finish during my outpatient visit. The nursing staff was exceptional! So sweet, caring and really concerned about my comfort and needs. Thank you."
