"My 73 yr old husband walked into Thedacare for a lab draw. He is carrying and using an an oxygen tank and using a cane. He walks very slowly and with much pain. When he went to the desk to check in they told him that he was at the wrong location. Rather than offer to draw labs there which only takes a few minutes they told him to leave. He had to walk out of the hospital and go to the Green Bay Road location and go in to have his labs drawn. The lab at Green Bay Road said that they would have drawn his labs if it had happened there. Where is the compassion at Thedacare Hospital? I feel that that person at the desk doesn't have enough empathy or compassion to be working at that position. Isn't your goal to help patients rather than cause so much pain and fatigue for an elderly handicapped man."
"The nurses here are caring and compassionate! They went above and beyond and made a miserable situation bearable for my husband and myself! I was able to stay in the awesome guest house, which I'm so appreciative of that!! They took excellent care of my husband! Definitely high quality healthcare here. They made sure pain was under control and helped my husband heal and get well after two emergency surgeries and quite a long stay. I'd definitely recommend being a patient here! I'd like to especially thank Dr Luedke and the team from Surgical Associates. I'd also like to thank the nurses and staff from the Trauma Surgical 6th floor! A few shout outs to Jason, Judi, Noah, Dakota, and Jade for the high quality nursing care they provided. Thank you all for going above and beyond ❤️ It's healthcare staff like you that make being in the hospital bearable. I wish you could all get big bonuses for the extra work you do!! Thank you all so very much!!!!! There are a couple of very important things that I'd like to mention that need to be addressed. After being there for 20 days I've noticed some areas that are lacking severely when it comes to cares. Getting people washed up and linen changes daily should be an absolute priority!! That unfortunately didn't happen much. Towards the end of his hospital visit he was given some cold bath cloths and told to wash up, and go for a walk, then his bed sheets would get changed. He washed up and then went for a walk. During the walk he seen the nurse who told him she'd change the sheets after he washed up and walked. She was chatting with coworkers about personal things (he over heard the conversation). Got back to his room to moist damp dirty linens :(. They didn't get changed. Other than that things were ok. The issues with pain relief after two major surgeries was addressed and taken care of so I'm happy with that."
"I went in to the ER yesterday for severe dehydration, possibly alcohol poisoning. I told them I rarely drink and did not drink more than usual but was in very bad shape. I couldn’t even drink water, could barely speak, was cold and shaking, puking into a garbage bag, couldn’t walk, and ended up in and out of consciousness on a bench. I watched as every single person in the waiting room including those that came well after me and had no obvious discomfort were brought back and i was ignored. It took TWO hours just to get a room and another 20 minutes to be brought nausea medications. I was not given a blanket, a remote for the bed or a call button. I later realized it had been a bad reaction between the alcohol and a depression medication I am on, the hospital never mentioned this, they instead treated me as if I was an alcoholic and dismissed me. I did eventually receive an IV and nausea meds and was able to go home and have since fully recovered. It turns out that with enough alcohol mixed with my meds it could've turned deadly, and still they never caught this or seemed to care. I was met with judgement and neglect. I had gone in one other time due to dehydration following a stomach flu and was given immediate care and great service. They had clearly judged me and decided I wasn’t worthy of care. Extremely disheartened, I can only hope no actual addicts come in and die because the staff deem it their own fault and let them deteriorate in the waiting room."
"The hospital is good so far... I would rate it 4/5. Yes, waiting is long, but so far, the staff that we have met are nice. ER rate is 3/5. Not bad, nor good experience. We came around 8pm with our daughter, who, 9, broke her arm. Waited til 1am... finally after seeing everyone else who was there before us gone in and leave I told the nurse we have been waiting for 5 hrs, and these are all new people sitting and waiting. They finally got us into the ER side but in their small extra waiting room because they didn't have any rooms open. The doctor who we saw he was super friendly and helpful. I would rate him 5/5. Another time was our 9 month old being sick, we were worried and being after hours our nurse on call from his doctor told us to go in. So we did...waited little over 1 hour...experience was good. Nurses were helpful. The two young male doctors were on the floor, kinda awkward with them. ER needs alot of help. The experience with the elderly receptionist in the front with the pixie dark blonde/brown lady is a different rating, 2/5. She is one of those " if it's her fault she will change the words to blame you" kind of person."
"I had to get extensive sinus surgery here, something I have been waiting a long time for. The ENT office said that Thetacare would reach out to me a few days prior to surgery to let me know what time the procedure would be scheduled for. I never heard from them, so I called myself. The lady on the phone was very friendly! She told me it would be at 7:20. The next morning, before surgery, I got a call asking where I was. I was in the shower at the time, so I had to call back. This time, whoever was on the phone was VERY rude. She said “you were *supposed* to be here at 5:30.” I was honestly shocked by this since I had NEVER been given that info. I told her as such, that the helpful person on the phone yesterday told me 7:20?! Then, this nurse blankly said “we’ll see you soon.” and hung up. Unbelievable. The person that connected me to this nurse on the phone was very rude as well. The planning and scheduling here is so unorganized, and the way I was treated on the phone really sucked. It isn’t my fault that this hospital never reached out, or gave me the wrong time (?). Surgery went well, and most of the nurses I met in person were wonderful! But other than that, the whole thing was such a mess to figure out. I work in customer service too, I understand that sometimes people make you want to rip your hair out. That’s no excuse to hang up on somebody who needed some help."
