"Love this school my niece and nephews go here and it’s just amazing"
"Awesome school! Awesome teachers! This school is innovative and using research based ideas. Children play more by getting 30 min recess in the morning, 50 minute lunch/recess, and another 10 minute afternoon recess! They are also big in teaching and learning How to Play by The Bay which is a philosophy and curriculum. Children engage in multiple fieldtrips and Assemblies!! The school also offers an afterschool program (Alameda Arts) that is phenomenal!!!! You guys rock!!!!"
"This is a terrible school. My son went there for only a year, it was so bad! Katherine Barr, the principal, is the worst principal that I've ever met in my life. She claims that she's "teaching kids lifeskills" when in reality, she yells at little kids when they're crying. Along with that, she's very forgetful. She forgot the birthdays of so many kids that it wasn't even funny; why, when she forgot my son's birthday last year, I gave her a piece of my mind! She seems to think that any sort of noise level in the lunchroom is unacceptable; it's LUNCH! Kids are supposed to be loud because they're kids! She yelled at my son for talking in a NORMAL TONE about Batman! She just makes me very angry. Why, one of my son's friends has an older brother who goes to that school, and he told me that today in the lunchroom, a group of girls were yelled at... for choosing their seats. Apparently, she got angry at them all because they were standing there (no one was actually walking around, but they were trying to figure out where to sit,) and she just yelled at them! I honestly feel that that's just rude; along with that, every student was that she'd yelled at was either poor or a minority. The four students were Asian, Filipino, black, or, in the case of the Irish freckled girl, very, very, poor. Not only is she rude, but also has internalized racism, or so I've theorized. In other words, most of my issues with this school stem from the, as the teacher of my son's new class at Nea would say, the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad, principal. Everyone else is great, though."
"Amazing school! The teachers there are fantastic, the playground is very fun (swings would be nice, but that might just be personal preference,) and overall, I really don't have that many complaints! I've been going there since kindergarten, and will actually be graduating this year as a fifth-grader. I have enjoyed my experience, and though I cannot wait for middle school, I also cannot claim that I won't miss this school."
